HARDWARE KIT TOOLS REQUIRED
4 – 3M Anti-abrasion Film Pads 1 – Pair of Side Cutters
5 – Large Bumpons 1 – Measuring Tape or 12” Ruler
4 3/16” Flat Washers 1 Grease Pencil

“Installing Black ‘E’ Clips onto Deflector”
INSTALLATION
1. Be sure that the hood is clean and dry inside and out.
2. Center the deflector on the hood; determine where the deflector will mount. Remove and discard the corresponding hood seal clips
with the aid of the side cutters.
3. Measure along the leading edge of the hood from the fender shut–line and with the grease pencil, mark the edge of the hood at ¾”
and 11 ¼” from each side. See Figure below.
4. Apply the anti-abrasion film pads by centering them over the marks made in step 3 and folding the film over the edge of the hood to
cover at least ½” underneath.
5. Insert the deflector-mounting tab in between the hood and the hood seal.
6. Center the deflector on the hood and then push/ tap the ’E’ clips (already mounted on the deflector) into place. The ‘E’ clips will mount
over the anti-abrasion film pads applied in step 4. Ensure that the deflector is still centered on the hood.
7. Assemble the washers onto the screws and then insert them through the holes in the hood seal, where the clips were removed in step
2, through the deflector and into the holes in the hood.
8. Snug the screws into the hood (do not over tighten).
9. Install the bumpons on the hood, as shown below, about 2” behind the leading edge of the hood (where the deflector begins to turn
up). The outer two bumpons mount directly behind the ‘E’ clips; the inner two mount 1” inside of the crease lines of the hood and the
finally one at the center of the hood.
Attention: The bumpons must be installed on the hood not on the deflector!!!! If the
bumpons are installed on the deflector, they will wear through the paint.
10. On some vehicles it may be necessary to adjust the hood bumpers and/ or latch for proper clearance.
Note: Do not pull on the deflector when opening or closing the hood.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Clean the deflector with a mild soap and water solution or plastic cleaner only. Do not use chemicals or solvents.
Periodically check to make sure the bumpons are in place and the deflector is secure.
Avoid using automatic car washes. Do not pull on the deflector when opening or closing the hood.
