Use
This oven combines the advantages of traditional static natural convection ovens with those of modern
fan ovens. It is an extremely versatile appliance which allows for easy and safe selection of 9 different
cooking methods. Use knobs (B) and (E) on the control panel to select the program and temperature. For
best results from your Franke oven, consult the cooking table on page 20.
Cooling fan
In order to reduce the temperature at the front of the oven, the control panel and side panels, Franke ovens
are equipped with a cooling fan which automatically turns on when the oven is hot. When the fan is running,
you will notice hot air blowing from the front of the oven between the front panel and the oven door; Franke
has made sure that the air jet does not disturb the kitchen environment and that noise is kept to a minimum.
To protect the surrounding kitchen units, the fan keeps running after cooking until the oven has
cooled down.
To speed up the time required for the oven to cool down, open the oven door slightly.
Oven light
This symbol means that the ovens internal light has turned on without any heating function.
This option is used for cleaning the oven when it is switched off, to allow better visibility inside the cooking
compartment.
It turns on when the door is opened and when the oven is being used.
Cooking programs
Defrosting
Set the knob to ( ) for defrosting.
In this case the air driven by the fan inside the oven blows on the food, thus speeding up the natural defrost-
ing process.
Convenction mode
Set the thermostat knob (E) to between 50°C and Max (260°C).
The heat source is both above the food (roof heating element) and below it (floor heating element). This is
the traditional cooking method which results in uniform cooking on a single shelf.
Fan assisted mode
Set the thermostat knob (E) to between 50°C and Max (260°C).
This turns on the top (roof) element, the bottom (floor) element and the fan; in contrast with the previous func-
tion (static cooking) the fan distributes the heat more evenly so that two shelves can be used at the same time.
Ventilated mode
Set the thermostat knob (E) to between 50°C and Max (260°C).
This turns on the circular heating element and the fan. The resulting constant, even heat cooks and browns
the food uniformly. You can even cook different dishes at the same time, so long as their cooking tempera-
tures are the same. This is the most delicate form of fan cooking available with this Franke oven, ideal for
desserts and pastries, and allows up to three shelves to be used at the same time.
Multi power ventilated mode
Set the thermostat knob (E) to between 50°C and Max (260°C).
This turns on the circular element as well as partially turning on the top (roof) and bottom (floor) elements,
and also turns on the fan. Compared to the previous function, it is a more powerful and faster way to reach
the required temperature; this, in combination with the even temperature distribution, makes it ideal for
meat and fish roasts and for baked pasta, and up to three shelves can be used.
Quick cooking pizza mode
Set the thermostat knob (E) to between 50°C and Max (260°C).
This turns on the circular, top (roof) and bottom (floor) elements, and also turns on the fan. This is the most
powerful function available with your Franke oven, and the heat is distributed so as to be more intense at the
bottom of the oven; this makes it ideal for cooking pizzas or fast cooking of frozen foods in general. It can be used
for quickly bringing the oven up to the required temperature, after which you can set any of the other available
programs.
