  If the image on the screen of your Freedom Scientific Magnifier is blurry or unfocused, verify the close-up lens is correctly positioned: closed for reading or self-viewing, and open for distance viewing. Check that Focus Lock is off by pressing the orange FOCUS LOCK button to enable Auto Focus. Ensure the lens is clean, and the object you're viewing is centered on the screen. For self-viewing (close-up lens closed), position yourself 18 to 30 inches from the camera.

  If the screen on your Freedom Scientific Magnifier is blank, ensure the main power switch is turned on and the green Power LED for the camera (located on the bottom) is lit. Verify the power cable is securely connected to both the unit and the wall outlet. Try decreasing the magnification level using the black MINUS button. Also, adjust the brightness using the yellow BRIGHTNESS buttons or switch to a different color mode by pressing the blue COLOR MODE button.

  If your Freedom Scientific Magnifier unit isn't turning on, start by checking that the main power switch is in the 'on' position. Verify the remote control's functionality; the red LED in the upper left corner should flash when a button is pressed. If it doesn't, replace the two AAA batteries. Make sure you are using the remote control that is paired with your camera. Also, ensure the wall outlets have power and aren't malfunctioning, checking any connected wall switches are also turned on.
