How to Hold a Guitar
Placement
The bottom curve of
guitar should be
resting on your lap,
with the guitar
strings angled
slightly upward.
Fretting-hand
Position
Keep your wrist
below the fretboard
and make sure
your fingers can
comfortably reach
across the strings.
The first step in learning how to play the guitar is learning to hold it properly.
Posture
Sit in an upright,
but comfortable
position. Keep your
knees relaxed and
your shoulders over
