Usage Features
The microwave oven features a comprehensive control panel with numeric pads (0-9) and dedicated function buttons:
- Popcorn: Auto-cooks commercially packaged popcorn bags (1.75 oz, 3.0 oz, 3.3 oz).
- Beverage: Heats 1 or 2 cups (8 oz, 16 oz) of beverage.
- Potato: Auto-cooks 1 to 4 potatoes (8 to 36 oz).
- Reheat: Provides 3 quick preset settings for reheating food based on serving size (8 oz, 16 oz, 24 oz).
- Defrost (by time or weight): Allows defrosting food by entering weight (0.1 to 6.0 lbs) or time (up to 99 minutes and 99 seconds). Power levels are fixed during defrosting to ensure optimal performance.
- Quick Start: Offers 3 instant key settings for 1, 2, or 3 minutes of cooking at 100% power.
- Time Cook: Enables manual cooking by setting a specific time (up to 99 minutes and 99 seconds).
- Power Level: Provides 10 power levels (P-10 to P-100) for varied cooking needs, allowing for slower cooking of delicate foods or faster heating.
- START: Initiates cooking or confirms settings.
- Stop/Cancel: Stops or cancels cooking, pauses the oven, or clears incorrect entries. Holding for 3 seconds activates/deactivates the Control Lock.
- +10 Sec / +30 Sec: Adds 10 or 30 seconds to cooking time at 100% power or starts cooking for these durations.
- Clock: Sets the time of day.
- Timer: Sets a countdown timer independent of cooking functions.
- Exhaust (High/Low/Off): Controls the exhaust fan speed to remove cooking vapors. The fan may automatically turn on at a LOW setting if the oven area becomes too hot.
- Surface Light On/Off: Toggles the surface light on or off.
- Melt/Soften: Offers preset settings for melting/softening items like butter, chocolate, ice cream, and cream cheese.
- Setting: Accesses various customizable settings such as sound (Lo/nor/Hi/off), weight units (lbs/kg), filter indicator (on/off/reset), and Demo Mode (on/off).
Control Lock: This feature locks the control panel to prevent accidental operation, useful for child safety or during cleaning.
Multiple Cooking Stages: The oven supports up to two cooking stages with different power levels and times for complex recipes.
Turntable: The microwave oven operates with a turntable that rotates clockwise and counterclockwise to ensure even cooking. It should always be used with food in the oven to absorb microwave energy.
Safety Precautions:
- Avoid operating the oven with the door open.
- Do not tamper with safety interlocks.
- Ensure the door, hinges, latches, and seals are undamaged.
- Do not use metal or foil that is not molded to food, or items with metallic trim, as this can cause arcing.
- Do not overheat liquids to prevent sudden boiling.
- Use potholders and direct steam away from face/hands to prevent burns.
- Do not use the cavity for storage.
- The appliance is suitable for use above gas and electric cooking equipment 36" wide or less.
Maintenance Features
Cleaning and Care:
- Exterior: Clean with mild soap and water, rinse, and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Door: Wipe the window and metal parts with a soft cloth. Avoid harsh spray cleaners.
- Stainless Steel (Easy Care™/Smudge-Proof™/Black Stainless Steel): Clean with warm soapy water or a 50/50 solution of water and vinegar. Avoid store-bought stainless steel cleaners or those containing abrasives, chlorides, chlorines, or ammonia.
- Touch Control Panel: Wipe with a slightly dampened cloth (water only) and dry with a soft cloth. Do not scrub or use chemical cleaners.
- Interior: Clean with a soft cloth and warm water. For heavier soil, use baking soda or mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Waveguide Cover: Located on the right side of the cavity, it is made of mica and must be kept clean. Wipe food spatters immediately to prevent overheating or fire. DO NOT REMOVE the waveguide cover.
- Odor Removal: Combine 1 cup water, grated peel, and juice of 1 lemon in a 2-cup glass measuring cup, boil for several minutes at 100% power, let stand, and then wipe the interior.
- Turntable/Turntable Support: These parts are removable and dishwasher-safe (upper wirerack). Wash with mild, sudsy water or a mild cleanser for stubborn stains.
Filter Replacement:
- Exhaust Ventilation Filters: These aluminum filters should be removed and cleaned monthly. Soak in hot water with mild detergent, rinse well, and shake dry or wash in a dishwasher. Do not use ammonia.
- Charcoal Filter: Used for non-vented, recirculated installations. The FILTER light on the display indicates when replacement is needed. To replace, disconnect power, open the cover, remove the old filter, slide in the new filter, and close the cover.
Oven Light Replacement:
- To replace the oven light, remove the vent grill, unscrew and remove the lamp cover, unplug the LED light from the harness, replace with part 5304499540, reconnect, and reassemble.
The appliance comes with a one-year limited warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship. Exclusions include products with altered serial numbers, transfers outside USA/Canada, rust, "as-is" purchases, food loss, commercial use, service calls not related to defects, installation corrections, expenses for accessibility, consumable parts, surcharges for remote service, and damages from improper installation or external causes.
