Why won't the compressor start in my FRIULAIR CWE Chiller?
    • N
      Natalie RuizAug 14, 2025
If the compressor in your FRIULAIR Chiller isn't starting, here are a few things to check: * If the thermal protection inside the compressor activated, wait for it to cool down and ensure the compressor is working under normal conditions. Also, check for insufficient refrigerant. * Examine the compressor contactor. Verify the voltage at the coil and the coil's continuity. * If the phase-sequence relay intervened, reverse the two phases upstream from the unit's electrical panel cut-off switch. * If the magnetothermic protection of the compressors opened, look for short circuits in the motor windings. Check for over-absorption of current due to low voltage, and verify the power supply voltage and operating conditions.

What to do if my FRIULAIR CWE Chiller unit does not start?
    • M
      Monica SmithNov 3, 2025
If your FRIULAIR Chiller unit doesn't start, consider these potential causes and solutions: * Ensure the contacts of the main differential switch and the unit's electrical panel cut-off switch are closed. * Verify the I/O/REM switch is in the 'I' position. * Check the pump's functionality and vent the plumbings if there's no consent from the water differential switch. * Wait 3 minutes if the compressor timer is active. * Apply a thermal load or lower the set point if there's no consent from the service thermostat. * Reset the water temperature to be compatible with the anti-freeze thermostat calibration if there's no consent from it. * Inspect and replace defective service, anti-freeze, or entering water temperature probes. * Investigate for current dispersion inside the m...

How to fix a FRIULAIR CWE Chiller that won't start?
    • R
      Renee StantonNov 22, 2025
If your FRIULAIR Chiller isn't starting, the issue could stem from several causes. Begin by ensuring that the contacts of both the main differential switch and the unit's electrical panel cut-off switch are closed. Next, check that the I/O/REM switch is set to the 'I' position. If these aren't the problem, verify the pump is working correctly and vent the plumbings to address potential issues with the water differential switch. Also, allow three minutes for the compressor timer to complete its cycle. If the issue persists, check the service and anti-freeze thermostats, adjusting the thermal load or set point as needed. Finally, inspect the service, anti-freeze, and entering water temperature probes for any defects, and replace them if necessary. If the main differential switch intervened, ...
