Overview

This document is an operating manual for a Fujitsu Room Air Conditioner, specifically the Ceiling Wall Type INVERTER models. The indoor units are AWT24PBA and AWT30PBA, and the outdoor units are AOT24PMAL and AOT30PMAL.

Function Description:

The air conditioner offers various operating modes:

  • Automatic Operation: The unit automatically selects Heating, Cooling, or Monitor modes based on the thermostat setting and room temperature. When first selected, the fan operates at a very low speed for about one minute to detect room conditions. If the room temperature is near the thermostat setting, it enters monitor operation (low fan speed). If the temperature changes, it re-adjusts.
  • Heating Mode: Used to warm the room. The fan operates at a very low speed for 3-5 minutes initially to allow the indoor unit to warm up before full operation. If the room temperature is very low, the unit may automatically enter a defrost cycle, during which the OPERATION indicator lamp (red) flashes, and heating is interrupted. The thermostat setting must be higher than the current room temperature for heating to operate.
  • Cooling Mode: Used to cool the room. The thermostat setting must be lower than the current room temperature for cooling to operate.
  • Dry Mode: Used for gentle cooling while dehumidifying. The unit operates at low speed, and the indoor unit's fan may stop periodically to adjust humidity. Fan speed cannot be manually changed in this mode. Heating is not available in Dry mode. The thermostat setting must be lower than the current room temperature for dry mode to operate.
  • Fan Mode: Circulates air throughout the room without heating or cooling. The fan alternately turns on and off, running at low speed when on.

Usage Features:

  • Wireless Remote Control Unit: Allows convenient control of all air conditioner operations.
  • Omni-Directional Air Flow (Swing Operation): Provides three-dimensional control over air direction through dual use of UP/DOWN and RIGHT/LEFT air direction swing. UP/DOWN flaps operate automatically based on the operating mode.
    • Vertical Air Direction Adjustment: Controlled by the AIR FLOW DIRECTION VERTICAL SET button. The air direction range changes with each press. During Cooling/Dry mode, horizontal flow (position ①) is recommended to prevent condensation. During Heating mode, downward flow (position ⑤) is recommended.
    • Horizontal Air Direction Adjustment: Controlled by the AIR FLOW DIRECTION HORIZONTAL SET button. The air direction range changes with each press.
    • Vertical Airflow SWING Operation: Pressing the AIR FLOW DIRECTION VERTICAL SWING button makes the UP/DOWN air direction flaps swing automatically. The SWING indicator lamp (VERTICAL SWING) lights.
    • Horizontal Airflow SWING Operation: Pressing the AIR FLOW DIRECTION HORIZONTAL SWING button makes the RIGHT/LEFT air direction louvers swing automatically. The SWING indicator lamp (HORIZONTAL SWING) lights.
  • Sleep Timer Operation: Automatically modifies the thermostat setting during sleep to prevent excessive warming or cooling.
    • During Heating: Thermostat setting is lowered 1 °C every 30 minutes, up to a total of 4 °C, then maintained until the set time, after which the unit turns off.
    • During Cooling/Dry: Thermostat setting is raised 1 °C every 60 minutes, up to a total of 2 °C, then maintained until the set time, after which the unit turns off.
  • Timer Operation (ON/OFF/PROGRAM):
    • ON Timer: Starts operation at a set time. The unit begins operation before the set time to reach the desired temperature by the set time ("Nice-Morning Timer").
    • OFF Timer: Stops operation at a set time.
    • PROGRAM Timer: Integrates OFF and ON timer operations in a sequence within a 24-hour period. The first timer to operate is the one set nearest to the current time.
  • Super Quiet Operation: Selecting "QUIET" with the FAN CONTROL button reduces the indoor unit's airflow for quieter operation.
  • Manual Auto Operation: In case the remote control unit is lost or unavailable, the MANUAL AUTO button on the main unit control panel can be used. The unit will operate in AUTO mode with fan speed "AUTO" and thermostat setting 23 °C.
  • AUTO Restart: In case of power interruption, the air conditioner automatically restarts in the previously selected mode once power is restored. If a power failure occurs during TIMER operation, the timer is reset, and the unit begins (or stops) operating under the new timer setting, with the TIMER indicator lamp flashing.

Maintenance Features:

  • Removable Intake Filter: The indoor unit's intake filter can be easily removed for cleaning.
    • Cleaning: Dust can be removed by vacuuming or washing with mild detergent and warm water. Filters should be dried thoroughly in a shady place before reinstallation.
    • Frequency: Intake filters should be cleaned every five weeks during normal use.
  • Mildew-Resistant Filter: The intake filter is treated to resist mildew growth for cleaner use and easier care.
  • Air Cleaning Filter:
    • Air Purifying Filter (Wasabi Filter): Catches dust mites, tobacco smoke, and other common pollutants, and inactivates mold and bacteria.
      • Replacement: Normal life is about three months. Replace with UTR-FB11.
    • Deodorizing Filter (Light Recovery Filter): Absorbs tobacco smoke, pet dander, and other contaminants.
      • Regeneration: Remove dust by vacuuming and place in direct sunlight for six hours every six months to regenerate the deodorizing effect. No need to replace for three years under normal conditions.
    • Installation: Involves removing intake filters, attaching the air purifying or deodorizing filter to the holder on the filter frame, and then reinstalling the intake filters.
