This document is a user manual for the FULGOR MILANO Built-In Fridge-Freezer, model FM4BM22FBI.
Function Description
The FULGOR MILANO FM4BM22FBI is a built-in fridge-freezer designed for food storage. It features separate compartments for refrigeration and freezing, with specific zones for different types of food to optimize freshness and storage conditions. The appliance incorporates a no-frost system to prevent ice buildup, eliminating the need for regular manual defrosting of the freezer. It also includes an Anti-bacteria System, which varies by model, to protect food from bacteria and mold, reduce unpleasant smells, and extend storage time. This system uses special materials in the fridge liner to inhibit bacterial, microorganism, and mold growth.

Usage Features
- Initial Setup: Allow the fridge to settle for at least 24 hours before switching on. Clean the interior with bicarbonate of soda and warm water. The appliance starts at default settings (5°C fridge, 0°C fresh zone, -18°C freezer) upon first power-on or after a power failure.
- Temperature Adjustment: Use buttons D (fridge), E (freezer), and A (fresh zone) on the control panel to manually adjust temperatures.
- Special Functions:
- Fast Cooling: Quickly cools the fridge compartment.
- Holiday Function: Maintains higher temperatures in the fridge and fresh zone to save energy when the appliance is not in active use, while keeping the freezer at a standard frozen temperature.
- Smart Function: Automatically sets optimal temperatures for general use.
- Fast Freezing: Rapidly freezes fresh food in the freezer compartment.
- Compulsive Defrosting: A function on no-frost models (activated by pressing D/E + H for 5 seconds) to clean the freezer evaporator and display.
- Storage Guidelines:
- Fridge: Do not store hot foods or uncovered liquids. Wrap or cover food to prevent moisture loss and odors. Do not overfill to allow air circulation. Store raw meats below cooked meats. Thawing frozen foods in the fridge helps maintain low temperatures and saves energy.
- Fresh Zone: Ideal for short-term storage of fresh fish, meat, and dried fruit at -2℃~0℃. Can be used to partially thaw frozen ingredients for easier cutting/cooking. Vegetables and fruits are recommended at 0°C~3°C. Wrap easy-drying ingredients if storing for more than 4 hours to prevent moisture loss.
- Crisper Drawer: Features a humidity adjustment slider. Keep closed (left - high) for wilting vegetables (e.g., arugula, spinach) to retain moisture. Keep open (right - low) for fruits susceptible to rotting to allow gases to escape.
- Freezer: Designed for frozen food only. Do not put hot foods directly into the freezer. Store food in small packages (under 1kg) for faster freezing. Label food with type, storage date, and expiry. Do not refreeze thawed food. Avoid storing bottled or canned carbonated beverages.
- Door Reversal: The manual provides detailed instructions for changing the door's opening direction, including removing screw caps, hinges, supporting the door, and reattaching components.
- Door Seals: After door reversal, it is normal for the seal to be compressed. A hair dryer can be used (at approximately 10cm distance) to expand the seal and ensure a proper fit.
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning: Always disconnect from power supply before cleaning. Clean fridge and freezer sections with bicarbonate of soda solution and lukewarm water. Avoid abrasive products. Clean shelves and balconies by hand with mild washing-up liquid; do not use a dishwasher.
- Prolonged Absence: If the appliance will not be used for a long time, unplug it, clean it, and leave the doors slightly ajar to prevent mildew and odors.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues such as no power, poor performance, noise, beeping alarms, ice buildup in the fridge or freezer, and LED unit malfunctions. It advises checking power, fuses, thermostat settings, door closure, ventilation, and door seals before contacting customer care.
- No Frost System: The appliance has a no-frost system, so regular manual defrosting of the freezer is not typically required. However, excessive ice buildup may indicate a problem with the door seal or decor door fitting.
