5. NFC FUNCTIONALITY
NFC is a technology for data exchange and wireless communication. Perform controller
setup and verify your data using the Microsol app with a
compatible smartphone. For more information, visit the website:
http://microsolconnect.fullgauge.com/ or scan the QRcode with your cell phone.
Attention! Check your smartphone's compatibility with NFC technology.
1 - Bring the cell phone closer to the highlighted NFC position, as shown in image (1). With
the cell phone close to it, the controller will beep, signaling that the cell phone has been
detected by the controller.
2 - Keep your cell phone close to initiate communication.
Note: Check the position of the NFC antenna on your cell phone. Using images (2) and
(3) as a reference, it is possible to improve performance by bringing the cell phone
antenna closer to the highlighted position. The correct approximation with the
highlighted NFC position on the controller contributes to an easy and practical use.

6.2 AUXILIARY OPERATION MODE
Each short press on the auxiliary key A1 changes the operating mode of the support
output between OFF, AUTO and MANUAL modes. By pressing auxiliary key A1 for 4
seconds, MANUAL is set to WEEKEND mode.
6.3 FUNCTION LOCK
For security reasons and in order to prevent unauthorized persons from changing the
controller settings, there is a function lock feature. With this setting activated, the
parameters cannot be changed, only viewed, according to the configured protection
level. Parameter GE.05 determines which type of locking will be performed. In the lock
condition, when trying to change the value of a locked parameter, the message11111111
appears on the display. To enable/disable the functions lock, the key must be pressed
for the time configured in parameter GE.06 - Time for locking functions.

Do you have a question about the Full Gauge Controls Microsol RST Advanced c-o-n-n-e-c-t and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Full Gauge Controls Microsol RST Advanced is a digital thermostat designed for solar water heating systems. It is a sophisticated device that offers precise control and monitoring capabilities, ensuring efficient and safe operation of solar heating installations. The device is designed for indoor and dry environments, away from electromagnetic fields, and in well-ventilated spaces free from flammable liquids and gases. It must be protected by a circuit breaker of appropriate specification for the installed load.

Function Description:

The Microsol RST Advanced is a digital thermostat primarily used for solar water heating systems. Its core function is to manage the heating process by monitoring temperatures at various points in the system and activating loads (e.g., pumps, auxiliary heaters) as needed. The device supports two main operating modes: "OFF" for auxiliary output off, and "AUT" for automatic operation. In "AUT" mode, the controller automatically manages the heating process based on temperature differentials and other programmed parameters. It also features a "MANUAL" mode for manual control of outputs, which is useful for maintenance or specific operational needs.

The device incorporates several key functionalities:

  • Temperature Monitoring: It can monitor up to three temperature sensors (T1, T2, T3) to gather data from different parts of the solar heating system, such as the collector, reservoir, and auxiliary heater.
  • Differential Control: The thermostat uses temperature differentials (e.g., between the collector and the reservoir) to determine when to activate the circulation pump, optimizing heat transfer.
  • Auxiliary Heating Control: It can manage an auxiliary heating source to ensure the water reaches the desired temperature even when solar energy is insufficient.
  • Digital Inputs: The device includes digital inputs (D4) that can be configured for various functions, such as flow sensors, level sensors, or external commands.
  • Event Scheduling: It supports event scheduling, allowing users to program specific actions (e.g., turning on/off auxiliary heating) at predefined times and days of the week. This feature is particularly useful for optimizing energy consumption and adapting to different usage patterns.
  • Alarm Management: The device can generate alarms for various conditions, such as sensor errors, high/low temperatures, or system malfunctions, alerting users to potential issues.
  • Energy Economy Mode: An economy mode can be activated to optimize energy consumption, especially for auxiliary heating, by considering the availability of solar energy.
  • Pump Protection: The device includes features to protect pumps from dry running or excessive cycling.
  • Parameter Locking: To prevent unauthorized changes, the device allows locking of parameters, requiring a password to modify settings.
