Battery Replacement
CAUTION: Rechargeable batteries contain nickel-metal hydride and must be recycled or disposed of properly.
Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries. Do not
dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak. The batteries cannot be ingested.
For best results the solar battery should be replaced every 12 months. ONLY replace
the battery with a similar solar rechargeable battery of the same or greater mAh
rating.
• DO NOT use alkaline batteries.
• DO NOT mix old and new batteries.
1. Turning the solar light off
• Push the switch to the OFF position.
2. Removing the screws
• Remove the screws from the battery
compartment cover.
3. Removing the battery cover
• Carefully lift the cover to access the
battery compartment, being sure not to
detach any of the connected wires.
4. Replacing the battery
• Replace the battery with an equivalent
new solar rechargeable Ni-MH 1.2V
battery, ensuring the correct polarity is
observed.
5. Reinstalling the battery
cover
• Reassemble the unit by reversing the
above procedure.
6. Charging the new battery
• Fully charge the battery before first use
by pressing the ON/OFF button. Charge
under direct sunlight in the ON position
for two days.
7. Turning the solar light on
• Once fully charged, your solar light will
automatically turn on once it gets dark.
Maintenance
• Clean any dirt and debris from the solar panel. The panel cannot recharge if the
light is obstructed. Use a soft cloth to clean the panel. Do not use abrasives or
chemicals that might scratch or damage the UV coating.
• In a region where snow and ice are likely, and the light assembly is covered with
snow for an extended period of time, the batteries will require recharging for at
least 8 hours.
• To prolong the life of the product, it is recommended to store the product indoors
during the winter months. Remove the batteries and store in a dry location.
