SL 2000 CONTROL BOARD
Motor Torque / Obstruction Sensing / Auto Reverse Adjustment
Please read the ‘Trim Pot Caution’ attachment included with this manual
Refer to the “SL 2000 Circuit Board” data sheet included with this manual and locate the
‘FORCE’ trim pot on the circuit board.
This adjustment controls the motor torque and obstruction sensing of the gate motor. The motor
needs to have enough torque (force) to fully open and close the gate. However, the more torque
the motor has, the less obstruction sensitivity there is and therefore the gate may hit an obstruc-
tion more forcefully.
Usually the motor FORCE trim pot is set to the “12 o’clock” position however turn the FORCE
trim pot anti-clockwise (LIGHT) to increase sensitivity to an obstruction or turn the FORCE trim
pot clockwise (HEAVY) to increase the motor torque (force) of the motor. An obstruction will
cause the gate motor to STOP during OPENING or STOP and AUTO REVERSE if the gate is
CLOSING.
A RED LED light (D14) will light up if there is not enough force adjustment to open / close the
gate. Increase the motor FORCE trim pot to ensure there is adequate force to operate the gate.
