Preparations
The pictures below and on the following page identify the items in a
typical shipment from Gamry.
Standard cables are pictured on page 4. If you ordered special
cables, those may also be included in the potentiostat shipment.
To prepare to install your new Potentiostat:
1) Unpack the shipment carefully.
Do not discard the software license shipped with the CD.
Authorization Codes that you will need to install the software
are on the license sheet. (See Authorization Codes and Serial
Numbers on page 2.)
The potentiostat is shipped in a well-constructed foam
container. Save this container. If you return the potentiostat to
Gamry, put the instrument in this container for shipment.
2) If custom scripts (standard scripts with modifications) are
already on this PC, back up the scripts.
3) If a previous version of the Gamry Framework and associated
software packages are on the PC, these will be uninstalled
during the installation process.
The contents of your “My Gamry Data” folder will not
be
removed when you upgrade. The data in the folder will not be
overwritten when you install the new version of the Gamry
software. Scripts in the “Scripts” folder will
be overwritten if they
have the same name as Version 5 scripts.
These script and data files may be relocated depending on the
version you are upgrading from. If this is the case, the target of
the desktop icons will also automatically update.
4) No tools are needed to install the potentiostat.
