The ET30 Rolling Garage Door Opener is an instruction manual for a rolling garage door opener, designed for ease of use, safety, and reliability. This device is intended to automate the opening and closing of roll-up garage doors.
Function Description
The ET30 Rolling Garage Door Opener automates the operation of roll-up garage doors. Users can open, stop, or close the door by pressing a button on the remote control or the O/S/C button on the motor unit. The system incorporates a rolling code remote control for enhanced security, minimizing the chance of coincident codes. It features an electronic travel limit switch for precise and stable operation.
A key safety feature is the Intelligent Safety Obstruction System (ISS). During a closing cycle, if the door encounters an obstacle or restriction, it will automatically reverse. When opening, if the door is restricted, it will stop. This system requires a certain amount of force to be exerted on an object for detection, which may result in minor damage or injury if an object, door, or person is in the way.
The opener includes an energy-efficient LED light that illuminates automatically during operation and turns off 3 minutes after the operation is complete. For added convenience and safety, a back-up battery terminal is available (back-up battery optional), ensuring operation during power outages.
An auto-close mode is available, which automatically closes the door 1 minute after it has been fully opened (default setting). It is compulsory to install a photo electric beam if auto-close mode is selected to prevent personal injury or property damage. The auto-close time is adjustable. A photo beam terminal is also available for this purpose.
The device features a simple and reliable clutch mechanism. By pulling down the manual release lever, the door can be operated manually. Pushing the lever back up returns the door to auto mode.

Usage Features
Installation:
The manual provides detailed instructions for right-hand installations. Minimum side room of 40mm is required, but 95mm is recommended for easier access. Before installation, the garage door must be well-balanced and operate smoothly, with an ideal operational effort not exceeding 10kg (22 lbs). All door locks, ropes, and chains must be removed or disabled. An optional weight bar can be fixed to the bottom rail for heavy doors, and the door springs may need re-tensioning if the door feels heavy. The drive assembly slides over the door axle, ensuring the fork engages with a spoke of the door drum wheel. Two locking bolts secure the operator.
Left/Right Installation Setting:
This step is crucial for left-sided installations and must be completed before setting travel limits. If using a standard right-sided installation, this step can be ignored. To set, press and hold the 'SET' button until '5' is displayed, then use 'UP' or 'DOWN' to choose '1' for left or '0' for right installation. Confirm with 'SET'. The default is right-hand installation.
Door Travel Limit Setting:
- Pull down the manual release lever to put the operator in manual mode.
- Manually open the door until it touches the upper door stop (Fig. 7) and close it until it touches the ground (Fig. 8).
- Push up the manual release lever to return to electric mode.
- Press and hold 'SET' until '1' is displayed. Adjust the up limit using 'UP' or 'DOWN' buttons, then press 'SET' to confirm. The display will show '2'.
- Adjust the down limit using 'DOWN' or 'UP' buttons, then press 'SET' to confirm.
The opener will then automatically cycle to remember limit positions and opening/closing force. A 'half 11' display indicates successful completion.
Coding Transmitter:
- Ensure the operator is in standby mode.
- Press 'SET' until the coding light turns on, indicating remote learning mode.
- Press any button on the remote twice. The coding light will extinguish, confirming successful coding. Up to 20 remotes can be stored.
- To delete all remotes, press the 'CODE' button for over 8 seconds until 'C' is displayed, then release. The unit will return to standby mode, and all stored remotes will be deleted.
Safety Reverse Force Adjustment:
Press and hold 'SET' until '3' is displayed. Use 'UP' to increase force (max 9) and 'DOWN' to decrease force (min 1). The default is 3. Confirm with 'SET'.
Connecting Photocell (Optional):
Photocells are an optional unit. Connect the GND, PE, and +24V terminals of the photocells to the corresponding terminals on the control board (Fig. 10). Use switch value style (NC) photocells.
To activate: Press and hold 'DOWN' until '11' is displayed. Press 'UP' to display 'H', then 'SET' to confirm.
To cancel: Press and hold 'DOWN' until 'H' is displayed. Press 'DOWN' again to display '11', then 'SET' to confirm. It is critical to close the photo beam function if not utilizing the sensor.
Auto Close Setting:
Press and hold 'UP' until '-' is displayed. Press 'UP' to increase auto-close time by 1 minute (max 9 minutes). Press 'DOWN' to decrease time. Setting to '0' turns off the function (default). Confirm with 'SET'. Auto close is only available when the door is fully open. A photo electric beam must be correctly fitted and regularly tested when using auto close mode.
Maintenance Features
Regular Checks:
- Regularly check the safety obstruction force by placing a 50mm high object on the floor and adjusting as per instructions. This test should be repeated at regular intervals.
- Frequently examine the installation, including cables, springs, and mountings, for signs of wear, damage, or imbalance. Do not use the door if repairs or adjustments are needed.
- If the roll-up door is the only garage entrance, a back-up battery must be installed and checked weekly.
- When using auto close mode, a photo electric beam must be fitted correctly and tested for operation at regular intervals.
Troubleshooting:
The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues:
- Door not moving: Check main power, remove barriers, unlock the door, or check if the motor is turning.
- Door not reversing when obstructed: Decrease or increase safety reverse force.
- Door reversing automatically when closing: Check for obstructions under the door and remove them.
- Door stops automatically when opening: Increase safety reverse force.
- Remote light not flashing: Check battery connection or replace the 12V battery.
- Operator controlled by O/S/C button but not remote: Pull out the receiving antenna.
- Door not fully closing: Reset limit position after power failure.
- Noise during first manual travel limit setting: This is normal.
