Assembly
1. Prepare the hoses. Unroll the black soaker hose and green garden hose and lay them in the sun to increase  exibility.
2. Attach the quick-connect with coupler to the garden hose. Unscrew the threaded cap from the rounded end of the quick-
connect with coupler and slide the cap over one end of the hose. Push the end of the hose  rmly into the exposed end of the
adapter until it stops. Slide the cap over the threads of the adapter and twist it  rmly into place. Push the faucet adapter into the
quick-connect.
3. Attach the garden hose to the faucet closest to your garden. To operate the quick-connect feature, slide the barrel toward the
hose in the direction of the arrows, and pull away from the faucet.
4. Lay out the black soaker hose in the area to be watered. Customize your layout by alternating sections of garden and soaker
hoses. Use soaker hose to deliver water only where you want it. Cut to the desired lengths and connect with couplers (see next step).
5. Connect the green garden hose to the black soaker hose with a coupler. Unscrew the threaded cap from one end of the coupler
and slip it over the end of the green hose. Push the end of the hose  rmly into the exposed end of the coupler until it stops. Slide the
threaded cap over the coupler threads and twist it  rmly into place. Repeat the process to attach the black soaker hose to the other
side of the coupler.
6. Attach the end cap to the black soaker hose. Attach the end cap to the open end of the soaker hose, following the procedure in
step 2. To drain the hose, unscrew the  at end of the end cap.
Tips for Use
Alternate sections of garden hose and soaker hose to customize the Snip-n-Drip for your garden. Use couplers to insert sections of
garden hose to cross paths and other areas you don’t want to irrigate.
Add extra lengths of garden hose, if needed, between the faucet and garden.
You may use the faucet connector on a standard garden hose if you need a longer length of hose to get to the area where you want
the soaker hose to begin. Systems with low water pressure may experience reduced output over long distances.

Overview

The Snip-n-Drip system is a customizable irrigation solution designed to efficiently water gardens and other planted areas. It combines sections of black soaker hose, which delivers water directly to plant roots, with green garden hose, used to transport water across areas that do not require irrigation. This modular design allows users to tailor the watering system precisely to their garden's layout, minimizing water waste and maximizing efficiency.

Function Description

The primary function of the Snip-n-Drip system is to provide targeted irrigation to plants. Water flows from a faucet, through a faucet adapter and quick-connect, into the green garden hose, and then into the black soaker hose sections. The soaker hose, being porous, allows water to seep out along its entire length, directly into the soil and to the plant roots. This method of irrigation is highly efficient as it reduces evaporation and ensures water is delivered exactly where it's needed. The system is designed for easy assembly and customization, allowing users to create a layout that perfectly matches their garden's specific needs.

Important Technical Specifications

The system includes:

  • 50-foot black 1/2" soaker hose: This is the primary component for water delivery to plants. Its 1/2" diameter is standard for garden irrigation.
  • 25-foot green 1/2" garden hose: Used for connecting soaker hose sections and for routing water across non-irrigated areas. Its 1/2" diameter ensures compatibility with the soaker hose and included couplers.
  • Faucet adapter with quick-connect: This component connects the system to a standard outdoor faucet. The quick-connect feature allows for easy attachment and detachment of the garden hose.
  • 8 hose couplers: These are essential for connecting different sections of soaker hose and garden hose, enabling the customizable layout. Each coupler features a threaded cap for secure attachment.
  • End cap with coupler: Used to seal the end of the soaker hose system, preventing water leakage. It also includes a flat end that can be unscrewed for draining the hose.

Usage Features

The Snip-n-Drip system offers several user-friendly features:

  • Customizable Layout: Users can alternate sections of green garden hose and black soaker hose to create a watering system tailored to their garden. This allows for precise water delivery only where needed, such as around plants, while bypassing paths or areas that don't require irrigation.
  • Easy Assembly: The system is designed for straightforward assembly. Hoses are connected using couplers with threaded caps that slide over the hose ends and twist firmly into place. The quick-connect feature on the faucet adapter simplifies connection to the water source.
  • Flexibility: Before assembly, unrolling the hoses and laying them in the sun increases their flexibility, making them easier to maneuver and lay out in the desired configuration.
  • Targeted Watering: Soaker hoses deliver water directly to the root zone, minimizing water loss due to evaporation and runoff, which is common with overhead sprinklers.
  • Expandability: Users can add extra lengths of garden hose if needed, for example, to extend the distance between the faucet and the garden, or to bridge larger non-irrigated areas. The system's modular nature allows for easy expansion or modification.
  • Drainage Capability: The end cap includes a flat, unscrewable end, allowing for easy draining of the hose system, which is particularly useful for winterization or maintenance.
  • Low Water Pressure Compatibility: While systems with low water pressure may experience reduced output over very long distances, the soaker hose design generally performs well under typical residential water pressures. For longer runs or larger gardens, additional garden hose can be used to connect the faucet to the soaker hose sections, ensuring adequate pressure.
  • Versatile Faucet Connection: The faucet connector can be used with a standard garden hose, providing flexibility if a longer lead-in hose is required to reach the desired starting point of the soaker hose system.

Maintenance Features

Maintaining the Snip-n-Drip system is relatively simple:

  • Draining: The end cap's unscrewable flat end facilitates easy drainage of the entire system. This is crucial for preventing damage from freezing in colder climates and for general system maintenance.
  • Hose Preparation: Laying the hoses in the sun before assembly helps them become more pliable, making installation easier and reducing stress on the connections.
  • Component Replacement: Individual components like couplers or hose sections can likely be replaced if damaged, extending the life of the overall system.
  • Cleaning: While not explicitly detailed, periodic flushing of the system by removing the end cap and running water through it can help clear any sediment that might accumulate in the hoses.

The Snip-n-Drip system provides an effective, adaptable, and user-friendly solution for garden irrigation, promoting water conservation and healthy plant growth through targeted delivery.
