A series of horizontal bars of different lengths in the top right-hand corner of the
display screen indicates the state of charge of the rechargeable batteries. 3 bars
indicates a fully charged battery; 2 bars three-
quarters charged; 1 bar half charged; no bars
quarter charged or less – time to recharge.
When all the bars except the shortest have
disappeared, it is time to recharge the batteries
or replace them with another battery pack. To
recharge the batteries, simply plug in the
battery charger lead to the socket on the top
end of the instrument and plug the charger
into the mains. The batteries will be fully charged in about three hours.

IMPORTANT
DO NOT CHARGE BATTERIES OR REMOVE BATTERY PACK IN
POTENTIALLY EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERE.
The GFM400 Series uses rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride cells. If you need to
dispose of a set, please take care to do so in line with local requirements. The
expected life of the batteries is approximately 200 to 500 charge/discharge cycles.
