CONNECTING THE REFRIGERATOR []
TO THE HOUSE WATER LINE

A coldwater supply isrequired for automatic icemaker
operation, Ifthere isnot a cold water supply,you will
need to provideone,SeeInstallingthe Water Linesection,
NOTES:
• Beforemaking the connection to the refrigerator, be
surethe refrigerator power cord isnot plugged intothe
wall outlet,
• Ifyour refrigerator does not have a water filter, we
recommend installing one ifyour water supply has
sandor particlesthat could clogthe screen ofthe
refrigerator's water valve,Install it in the water line
near the refrigerator, If usingGESmartConnecC
RefrigeratorTubing Kit,you will need an additional tube
(WXO8X10002)to connect the filter, Donot cut plastic
tube to install filter,
• Beforeconnecting the water lineto the house,purge
the house linefor at least 2 minutes,
Ifyou are usingcopper tubing, placea compression nut
and ferrule (sleeve)onto the end of the tubing coming
from the housecoldwater supply,
Ifyou are usingthe GESmartOonnecfMtubing, the nuts
are already assembledto the tubing,

If you are usingcopper tubing, insertthe end of the
tubing into the refrigerator connection, at the back of the
refrigerator, asfar aspossible,While holding the tubing,
tighten the fitting,
If you are usingGESmartConnecfMtubing, insert
the molded end of the tubing into the refrigerator
connection, at the back of the refrigerator, and tighten
the compression nut until it ishand tight, Thentighten
one additional turn with a wrench, Overtightening may
cause leaks,
Fastenthe tubing intothe clamp provided to hold it in
position,Youmay need to pry open the clamp,
