Why is there a slight odor coming from my GE GDF650 during the dry portion of the cycle?
    • T
      thomasstephanieSep 13, 2025
This is normal when the Dry Boost option is used for the first time. It is caused by the heating of new parts and will disappear in a short time. No action is required.

How do I fix suds in the tub of my GE GDF650?
    • T
      Todd RodriguezSep 12, 2025
Suds in the tub are usually caused by using the wrong detergent or spilling rinse agent. Use only high-quality automatic dishwasher detergents to avoid sudsing, such as Cascade® Platinum™ ActionPacs™ or Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent. To remove suds, open the dishwasher and let them dissipate. Open the door, press and hold Start for 3 seconds, and close the door. Always wipe up rinse agent spills immediately.

What to do if water won’t pump out of my GE Dishwasher?
    • D
      Derrick HinesSep 10, 2025
If water won’t pump out of your GE Dishwasher tub, it's likely that the drain is clogged. If you have an air gap, clean it. If the dishwasher drains into a disposer, run the disposer to clear it. Check to see if your kitchen sink is draining well; if not, you may need a plumber.

How to clean stained tub interior in GE GDF650?
    • L
      Lori MolinaSep 8, 2025
If your GE Dishwasher has a stained tub interior, and you see a white film on the inside surface, it's likely due to hard water minerals. GE Appliances recommends using Finish® Jet-Dry® Rinse Aid to help prevent these deposits. You can also run the dishwasher with citric acid to remove mineral deposits. Citric acid (Part number: WD35X151) can be ordered through GE Appliances Parts. Alternatively, purchase Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner and follow the directions on the label.

Why are my dishes and flatware not clean in my GE GDF650?
    • O
      odickersonAug 23, 2025
There are several reasons why your dishes and flatware might not be clean. The Ultra-Fine Filter or Fine Filter could be clogged. The inlet water temperature might be too low. The water pressure could be temporarily low. The air gap or disposer might be clogged. The high drain loop or air gap might not be installed correctly. You might be improperly loading the rack, or you might be using a poor-performing detergent. Make sure that large dishware does not block the detergent dispenser or the wash arms. Normal water pressure to the dishwasher should be 20-120 psi. Use high quality detergents such as Cascade® Platinum™ ActionPacs™ or Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent.

    • L
      Lee KellerSep 4, 2025

How to fix a white film on glassware, dishware, and the interior of my GE GDF650 Dishwasher?
    • K
      kevinandersonSep 3, 2025
A white film is likely caused by a low-quality phosphate-free dishwasher detergent. To remove it, run a cycle with citric acid (WD35X151 kit found online) or use high-quality rinse agents like Cascade® Platinum™ Dishwasher Cleaner or Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner. Pour citric acid into the detergent cup, load filmed items (excluding silverware), and run a complete cycle without detergent. Alternatively, use a vinegar rinse: pour 1 cup of vinegar into the dishwasher just after the detergent cup opens and complete the cycle. Repeat as needed. Use high quality detergents such as Cascade® Platinum™ ActionPacs™ or Finish® Quantum® Automatic Dishwashing Detergent to help prevent film build-up.
