Why does my GE Water Filtration System have chlorine taste and/or odor?
    • R
      Rachael SmithAug 14, 2025
The chlorine taste or odor in your GE Water Filtration System's water may occur because the chlorine level in your water supply exceeds the system's limits, potentially damaging the reverse osmosis membrane. If your water supply has more than 2.0 ppm of chlorine, you'll need additional filtering before it reaches the reverse osmosis system. Another reason may be that the prefilter is no longer reducing chlorine from the water supply, so replace the reverse osmosis membrane cartridge, prefilter, postfilter, and the battery in the faucet handle.

What to do if my GE Water Filtration System makes product water slowly?
    • R
      Randy BarberAug 17, 2025
It's normal for GE Water Filtration Systems to produce water slowly compared to a regular faucet, as it takes several hours to fill the tank. However, if the water supply to the system isn't within specifications, increase the water pressure or precondition the water as needed. Another cause could be a prefilter cartridge plugged with sediments, so replace the prefilter. If the rate doesn't increase, replace the postfilter, reverse osmosis membrane cartridge, and the battery in the faucet handle. Also, the reverse osmosis membrane could be plugged with sediments, so replace the reverse osmosis membrane cartridge and the battery in the faucet handle.

What to do if my GE Water Filtration System has other taste and/or odor?
    • A
      alvareznicholasAug 21, 2025
If your GE Water Filtration System water has an unusual taste or odor, it might be because high-quality product water can taste different than what you're used to, which is normal. Low water usage can also be a factor; completely drain the system and allow it to refill. Contamination in the product water storage is another possible cause, so use the sanitizing procedure. Lastly, the prefilter and postfilter may need changing; replace them and sanitize the system.

Why is my GE Water Filtration System leaking from the faucet air gap hole?
    • H
      hectorjamesAug 25, 2025
If your GE Water Filtration System is leaking from the faucet air gap hole, it's likely because the drain side of the faucet air gap (3/8” tubing) is plugged, restricted, or incorrectly connected to the drain. Inspect and eliminate any restrictions or plugs. Ensure there are no dips, loops, or low spots in the drain line from the faucet air gap to the drain pipe. If a drain line adapter was used as the drain point, periodic inspection and cleaning is recommended.

Why is there no water coming from my GE Water Filtration System?
    • S
      Stephen WilsonAug 27, 2025
If your GE Water Filtration System isn't dispensing water, first ensure that the water supply valve is turned on. Also, after a filter change, remember that it takes several hours for the RO system to provide enough water to fill the tank.

How to fix leaks at fittings in GE Water Filtration Systems?
    • E
      Emily OneillAug 31, 2025
If you notice leaks at the fittings of your GE Water Filtration System, it's likely due to improper installation. Reinstall the system.

Why does my GE Water Filtration System have air bubbles and is cloudy?
    • D
      David HolmesSep 3, 2025
If the water from your GE Water Filtration System has air bubbles and appears cloudy, it's likely due to air in the system after installation. This should resolve itself after the system runs for a while.

Why is the indicator light on my GE Water Filtration Systems faucet handle not working?
    • U
      upowellSep 6, 2025
If the indicator light on your GE Water Filtration System's faucet handle isn't working, it could be due to the battery being installed incorrectly. Check the orientation and install it correctly. Alternatively, the battery may be dead; replace it with a new Lithium CR 2032, 3-volt battery.

    Jonathan BeanSep 9, 2025
What are the normal sounds I may hear from my GE Water Filtration System?
    • B
      barnesjenniferSep 9, 2025
The sounds you may hear from your GE Water Filtration System include sink drain sounds and drain water from the system, which is normal. You might also hear faucet air gap drain water flowing through the faucet air gap, especially if you have high-pressure water supply, generally 80 psi or greater. If this is the case, install a pressure regulator in the house water supply system to reduce the pressure below 80 psi.
