Why GE Microwave Oven will not start?

  Your GE Microwave Oven might not start due to several reasons: a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker in your home (replace the fuse or reset the breaker); a power surge (unplug the microwave, then plug it back in); the plug not being fully inserted into the wall outlet (ensure the 3-prong plug is fully inserted); or the door not being securely closed (open and close the door securely).

What to do if GE JES1145D Microwave Oven control panel is lighted, yet oven will not start?

  If the control panel of your GE Microwave Oven is lighted but the oven won't start, it could be due to the door not being securely closed (open and close it securely), the START pad not being pressed after making a cooking selection (press START), another selection already being entered and the CLEAR/OFF pad not pressed to cancel it (press CLEAR/OFF), or the CLEAR/OFF pad being pressed accidentally (reset the cooking program and press START).

  If the control of your GE Microwave Oven will not work, it might be locked. To unlock it, press and hold the CLEAR/OFF pad for about three seconds.
