  If your GE Air Conditioner isn't cooling as expected, several factors could be the cause. Make sure that curtains, blinds, or furniture aren't blocking the front of the unit, restricting airflow. Check that the temperature control is set correctly, and turn it to a higher number if needed. A dirty air filter can also reduce cooling efficiency, so clean it at least every 30 days. If the room was initially very hot, allow time for it to cool down after turning on the air conditioner. Also, check for open furnace registers and cold air returns that might be allowing cold air to escape. Finally, check if the cooling coils have iced up.

  If water is collecting in the base pan of your GE Air Conditioner, this is normal for a short period in areas with little humidity, and normal for a longer period in very humid areas, as moisture is being removed from the air and draining into the base pan.

Check your home's fuse or circuit breaker box and replace the fuse or reset the breaker if necessary. Also, there might be a power failure. In this case, the unit will automatically restart with the last used settings once power is restored, but there may be a protective 3-minute delay to prevent compressor overload. Finally, check the current interrupter device and press the RESET button on the power cord plug. If the reset button doesn't stay engaged, stop using the air conditioner and contact a qualified technician.
