Power level 3 is automatically
set, but you may change this
fi)r more flexibility. You may
defiost small items more
quickly by Faising the power
lexel after entering the time.

Power level 7 cuts the total
defi'osting time in about half:,
power level 10 cuts the total
time to approximately 1/3.
Rotate or stir l%od tiequently.
At one half of selected
defiosting time, the oxen
signals TURN. At this time,
tmn fi)od oxer and break
apart or rearrange pieces fl)r
more even defi'osting. Shield
any warm areas with small
pieces of fl)il.
A dull thumping noise may
be heard during defiosting.
This sound is normal when
the o_en is not operating at
High power.
Defrosting Bps
. Foods flozen in paper or
plastic can be defiosted in
the package. Tightly closed
packages should be slit,
pierced or vented AFTER
fl)od has partially defiosted.
Plastic storage containers
should be at least partially
uncoxered.
* FamiDsize, prepackaged
fl'ozen dinners can be
defiosted and microwax ed.
If the fi)od is in a fi)il
containei; transfer it to a
microwm e-safb dish.
* Foods that spoil easily, such
as milk, eggs, fish, stuffings,
poult U and pork, should
not be allowed to sit out
l%r more than one hour
after defiosting. Room
temperature promotes the
growth of harmfifl bacteria.
* For more even defi'osting of
larger fi)ods, such as beef,
lamb and veal roasts, use
Auto Defi'ost.
. Be sure large meats are
completely deflosted befi)re
cooking.
* When defi'osted, fbod
should be cool but softened
in all areas. If still slighdy icy,
