  There are several reasons why your Generac Portable Products Portable Generator engine might not start or runs rough: * The Run/Stop switch may be set to "Stop". If so, set the switch to "Run". * The air cleaner might be dirty. Try cleaning or replacing it. * You might be out of gasoline, or the gasoline may be stale or contain water. Fill the fuel tank with fresh fuel. * The spark plug wire may not be connected, or the spark plug may be bad. Connect the wire or replace the spark plug. * The engine might be overchoking. Put the choke lever to "no choke" position. * The oil level could be low. Fill the crankcase to the proper level.
