  If your Genie Garage Door Opener starts to go down but then stops and goes back up, or if you suspect a Safe-T-Beam® System malfunction, consider the following: * For new installations, verify the Door Arm position. * Check and adjust the limits if they are not properly set. * See if the Safe-T-Beam® red LED is flashing and check the Safe-T-Beam® system for any beam obstruction or misalignment. * Ensure that the garage door is not binding. If problems persist and the opener won't close, you can force it by pressing and holding the wall control button until the door closes completely. Also, check for interference from nearby Safe-T-Beam® units. For further assistance, contact Genie at 1-800-35-GENIE.

  If your Genie Garage Door Opener starts to go down but then stops before closing completely, or if the door will only open, try the following: * Check the Safe-T-Beam® wire connections at both the powerhead and the STBs. * Ensure the limits are properly set and adjust if needed. * Check the CONTACT REVERSE feature. * Inspect the garage door for any binding issues. * Check the closing “FORCE” control.

  If your Genie Garage Door Opener doesn't operate when you press the wall control, here’s what you can do: * Turn Sure-Lock™ OFF. * Check the power source by plugging a lamp into the outlet used for the powerhead. If the lamp works, the power source is fine. If it doesn't, check the fuse or circuit breaker. * If the power is OK, check the connections at the powerhead terminals and at the wall console. * Look for any reversed, broken, or cut wires, paying attention to staples that might have damaged the insulation and caused shorts. Repair or replace any damaged wires.
