MOVEMENT FAILED
Description:
Error checking the movement. Failure in motor, encoder, or other
mechanical parts. For this issue the most important thing is to check
the movements of the print head during the start-up of the plotter:
Printhead is not moving during start-up:
1. Verify that printhead movement motor is connected to CON22.
2. No electrical power - verify 29.5 V on the CON22 and between TP1 and TP2.
3. Head drive cable is loose or has too much tension. Verify that the metal plate is according to
reference arrow.
Printhead is moving during start-up:
1. If the rst movement is to the right, it means that the motor polarity is wrong.
2. In case that the motor shakes during the measuring movement of the start-up can be due:
2.1. Encoder strip damaged, an encoder test can be performed.
2.2. Flat exible cable (CON8) has a damaged track, in this case, at fexible cable pack
should be replaced.
Contact Service in case that the problem persists.
PAPER JAM
Description:
Paper movement read by paper encoder does not match with the
movement given by the paper advance motor.
This can be due to some mechanical block or a bad performance of the motor or encoder:
1. Verify the encoder wheel is turning smoothly, and that there is no dust and try again.
2. Check that the motor turns by pressing the "paper button".
2.1. In case that the motor is not turning:
2.1.1. Verify that the paper motor is connected to CON3
2.1.2. No electrical power - verify 29.5 V between TP1 and TP2
2.1.3. If previous steps are OK and the motor does not move, replace paper motor
2.2. In case that the motor is turning:
2.2.1. Check that encoder is connected to CON5
2.2.2. Clean encoder wheel and verify movement.
2.2.3. If previous steps are OK and paper jam still appears, replace encoder.
