Remove the charging port access panel (the small rectangular panel
on the back wall just at the base of the bench) and ensure that the
wires on either side of the breaker are snug. Replace the panel.
Ensure that the connections on each battery cell are screwed in
tight. The easiest method to check is to try and wiggle each,
connections should not move. If loose, remove the plastic protective
cap, tighten the screw below and then secure the cap back in place.
Loose wires or caps can result in movement leading to heat
generation or sparks.
Check that the battery cells are secure. Inspect the nonconductive
spacers in between each cell (styrofoam in most cases) to make
sure cells are properly separated and not touching each other.
Ensure the battery brackets are securely in place and prevent the
batteries from shifting within the battery compartment. Please note
battery and bracket placement should ensure that brackets are at
least ½ inch or 1 cm away from terminals to prevent any contact
while the scooter is in motion.
Ensure that no wires have become loose and are hanging down. In
the event a cable tie has come loose, or fallen off and a wire is now
hanging, secure with a new tie or electrical tape. To prevent any
damage to connections ensure wires have sufficient slack. Do not
reposition in a way that they are taught as motion during driving may
cause connections to break free.
Step 7 - Charge
Batteries naturally deplete even when not in use, so the scooter will arrive
only partially charged and must be fully charged before first use. Please see
pg. 15 for charging instructions.
