Removing
Engine
Access
Cover
ENGINE
ACCESSIBILITY
Access
to the
engine
is
provided
by
an
engine
cover
located
between
the
driver
and
passenger
seats
.
The
cover
is
designed
to
be
secured
at
the
two
rear
corners
by
securing
bolts
.
The
securing
bolts
have
rings
and
may
be
loosened
or
tight-
ened
by
hand
or screwdriver
.
The
cover
is
de-
signed
to
be
secured
at
the
front
by
a
retain-
ing
lip
.
To
remove
the
engine cover
loosen
the
secur-
ing
bolts
and
lift
up
using
the
wire
loops
.

engine
compartment
light

when
access
door

opened

light,

tached
to
a
25-foot
cord,
may
be
removed
from
engine
compartment
for
use
as
necessary
.
A
twin
post
hoist
of
sufficient
capacity
and
with
proper
adapters
and/or
fittings
must
be
used
.
Front
hoisting position
is
the
front
engine
crossmember
.
Rear
hoisting
must
be
done
at
the
rear
sus-
pension
brackets
.
If
an
"I"
beam
type
adapter
is
used
it
should
be
approximately
82
inches
in
length
to
gain
adequate
support
at
suspension
brackets
.
If
vehicle
is
to
be
placed
on
safety
stands
for
maintenance
or
repairs,
the
hoisting
points
should
be
used
.
