NGV A3 VALVE
INSTALLATION, USE AND MAINTENANCE
10991483 EN -1.10 - 26.05.2023
I.a All components: cleaning, deterioration and wear
❑ Visually check the status of the components and clean using a rag, water and neutral soap.
I.b Plates, signs and diagrams
❑ Visually check that all plates, signs, diagrams and documents are in the correct position, clearly
visible and not deteriorated. If necessary clean using a rag, water and mild soap.
II.a Engine guards
❑ Check the efficiency of the motor guards:
- Disconnect one of the ends of the thermistor series and verify that the motor saver intervenes
by stopping the engine.
II.b Uncontrolled Motion Detection Devices (A3)
❑ Check the correct functioning of the uncontrolled movement detection devices of the cabin (A3)
by carrying out the necessary tests, checks and measurements.
- See § Protection against uncontrolled movement [EN81-20 §6.3.13]
(Refer also to what is indicated in the manual of the maneuvering panel).
III.a Hydraulic fluid
❑ Visually check that the appearance of the fluid has not changed.
- Once a year, after leaving the system stationary for a few hours, it may be appropriate to
discharge a little fluid from the cap (J), located at the bottom of the tank, verifying its
cleanliness, continuing until you see clean fluid flowing.
❑ Check through the rod (F) or the indicator (L) that the fluid level, with the cabin on the highest
floor, is above idle (the engine, if submerged, must always be covered by fluid)
III.b Control unit tank
❑ Visually check that there are not fluid leaks from the tank.
III.c Ball Valve
❑ Check, the tightness of the gate in the following way:
- Close the gate (R/S) and open the pressure gauge tap (6)
- Completely discharge pressure by manually acting on the valve (VMD)
- Check that the pressure level on the pressure gauge (MAN) is at zero
- Close the tap of the pressure gauge (6) and open the gate (R/S)
III.d Pressure gauge tap
❑ Check the tightness and closure of the EN81 pressure gauge tap.
- Close the gate (R/S) and open the pressure gauge tap (6).
- Completely discharge the pressure by acting on the solenoid valve (VMD).
- Close the tap of the pressure gauge (6) and open the gate (R/S).
- Check that the pressure level on the pressure gauge (MAN) is 0 Bar.
III.e Working pressures
❑ Check that the static and dynamic pressure values correspond to those declared and measured
at commissioning as follows:
- Open the pressure gauge tap (6)
- Check the maximum static pressure value when the system is stationary and the cab with nominal
load
- Check the dynamic pressure value by moving the system upward.
- After measurements, exclude the pressure gauge (MAN) by closing the pressure gauge tap (6).
III.f Control unit valves
❑ Check, the tightness of the valve seals
- With the fluid at room temperature, close the main tap (R/S)
- Open the pressure gauge tap (6)
- Check that the pressure indicated on the pressure gauge (MAN) does not drop more than 4 bar in 5
minutes
