USING THE JUMP
STARTER
Ensure that the Venture Jump is fully charged. Carefully read and understand the
vehicle owner’s manual on specific precautions and recommended methods for
jump starting the vehicle. The Venture Jump is for jump starting 12-volt lead-acid
batteries only.
Step 1. Connect to the Battery
1a. Securely connect the red positive (+) clamp from the jumper cable to the
positive battery terminal, typically marked by these letters or symbol (POS, P, +).
1b. Securely connect the black negative (-) clamp from the jumper cable to the
negative battery terminal typically marked by these letters or symbol (NEG, N,-).
Step 2: Connect to the Venture Jump
Securely insert jumper cable leads into jumper cable port on the Venture Jump
making sure to orient the cable correctly in the port. Once inserted into the
Venture Jump, DO NOT allow the positive and negative battery clamps to touch or
connect to each other as the product will generate sparks and could cause
potential harm.
Step 3: Jump Starting
Make sure all the vehicle’s power loads (headlights, radio, air conditioning, etc.) are
turned off before attempting to jump start the vehicle.
Once the Venture Jump is connected, a solid green light will indicate the Jump is ready
to use. Wait a few seconds before attempting to start, but no more than 30 seconds.
Attempt to start your vehicle by turning the ignition key or pushing the ignition
button. Each start-up attempt should not exceed 5 seconds. DO NOT attempt more
than five (5) consecutive jump starts within a fifteen (15) minute period.
NOTE:For safety reasons, the Venture Jump will time out after 30 seconds. If you are
not able to successfully complete the jump start before 30 seconds, you will need to
disconnect the smart cables from the Jump, remove the cables from the battery, and
then reconnect the system before trying again.
Red and Green Alternating: Jumper cables are connected to the Venture
Jump but not connected to the battery
Red Solid: Venture Jump voltage is too low to attempt a jump or jumper cables are
connected to the battery but not connected to the Venture Jump
Green Solid: Jumper cables are connected to the battery and the Venture Jump
and are ready to jump start the vehicle
Red Solid and Continuous Tone: Indicates a short has been detected
Red Solid and Beeping: Indicates reverse polarity, the positive and negative
cables are attached to the incorrect battery terminals
Step 4: Removing Venture Jumper Cables
Once you have started the vehicle, remove the jumper cable leads from the jumper
cable port on the Venture Jump, then disconnect the red positive (+) clamp from the
battery. Then remove the black negative (-) clamp from the battery.
NOTE:The Venture Jump is a start-up aid and cannot fully substitute the power
of an original battery. If the battery of your vehicle is completely discharged or
faulty, the unit will not have enough power to start up your vehicle.
