Do you have a question about the GoodHome BAMIA GHAGRE90 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document describes the GoodHome Cooker Hood, model GHAGRE90, an angled glass hood designed for domestic use. It is a Class I appliance and must be earthed. The hood is supplied with a 3-core mains cable (Brown = Live, Blue = Neutral, Green and Yellow = Earth) and requires a 3 Amp fuse.

Function Description

The GoodHome Cooker Hood GHAGRE90 is designed to extract cooking fumes and odors from the kitchen. It can be installed in two modes:

  • Ducted option (extraction to the outside): Air is extracted from the kitchen and vented to the outside.
  • Recirculation option (no extraction to the outside): Air is filtered through carbon filters and recirculated back into the kitchen. This mode requires the installation of appropriate carbon filters (CARBFILT 50, not supplied).

The appliance features a control panel with touch icons for various functions:

  • Timer: Sets a countdown for the fan operation.
  • Fan Boost Function and Speed Increase (↑): Increases fan speed by one level or to full power (Boost 'P') if held for more than two seconds.
  • Hood On/Off: Turns the hood on and off, and opens/closes the glass panel.
  • LED Display: Shows current settings and fan speed.
  • Fan Speed Reduction (↓): Decreases fan speed by one level or to speed 1 if held for more than two seconds.
  • Light On/Off: Controls the downlight and ambient light.
  • Movement Sensor: Allows switching on the hood by passing a hand in front of the sensor (if enabled).

The hood can also be controlled remotely from a compatible GoodHome induction hob. This connectivity involves a three-stage pairing process:

  1. Configure the hob to transmit a radio frequency signal.
  2. Configure the hood to receive this signal.
  3. Lock the connectivity between the two appliances.

Once paired, the hood can be operated in three control modes:

  • Independent Control: The hood's fan and extraction can be operated manually from the hood's control panel, independently of hob settings.
  • Semi-Automatic Control: The hood's fan and extraction can be controlled manually from the hob's 360° Master Control Key.
  • Automatic Control: The hob automatically adjusts the hood's extraction rate based on the power output of the hob's cooking zones. The extraction rate varies with the combined power output of the hob (e.g., Speed 2 for 8 or less, Speed 4 for 9-24, Speed 5 for 25-32, and Boost 'P' for greater than 32).

Important Technical Specifications

Usage Features

  • First-time setup: When first turned on, all icons blink white, indicating settings mode. Users can configure recirculation, lighting, and sensor options within two minutes.
  • Lighting control: The downlight and ambient light can be turned on/off. Brightness can be adjusted through five levels (L1-L5). Lamp color temperature can be set to Cool White (default) or Warm White.
  • Fan operation: Fan speeds can be increased or decreased. The Boost function operates for a maximum of five minutes to conserve energy, then automatically drops to speed level 5.
  • Timer function: When the fan is on, the timer icon flashes blue, and the display shows the current fan speed. The chosen speed level operates for five minutes, then drops to the next lowest speed for two minutes, repeating until the fan turns off. The maximum timer cycle is 15 minutes.
  • Movement Sensor: Allows hands-free activation of the hood.
  • Remote control from hob: Seamless integration with compatible GoodHome induction hobs for automatic or semi-automatic control of extraction based on cooking activity.

Maintenance Features

  • Carbon filter replacement: For recirculation mode, carbon filters (CARBFILT 50) should be replaced every three months. The appliance will display an alert (flashing blue timer icon) after approximately 150 hours of fan operation to remind users.
  • Aluminium grease filter cleaning: To prevent fires, aluminium grease filters should be cleaned thoroughly once a month. They can be soaked in hot water and detergent or placed vertically in a dishwasher. An alert (flashing red timer icon) will appear after approximately 50 hours of fan operation to remind users. The cleaning/replacement frequency should be increased if the hood is used for more than 2 hours a day.
  • Lamp replacement: The LED lamps are not user-replaceable. If a lamp fails, customer services should be contacted to arrange an engineer visit.
  • General cleaning: The cooker hood should be cleaned regularly to prevent blockage of the airway.
  • Safety during maintenance: Always switch off the electrical supply at the mains before carrying out any maintenance work or cleaning.

The manufacturer reserves the right to adapt and carry out any modifications considered necessary without prior warning, as part of a policy of continuous product improvement.
