Overview

This document describes the Gorenje BM 1210 BK bread maker, a household appliance designed for automatic bread baking.

Function Description:

The bread maker offers 12 different programs for various types of bread and dough, along with options for crust color and loaf size.

  • Basic: For white and mixed breads, typically made from wheat or rye flour, resulting in a compact consistency. Crust color can be adjusted.
  • French: For light breads made from fine flour, requiring specific timing and temperatures to achieve a crispy, nicely browned crust. Not suitable for recipes with butter, margarine, or milk.
  • Whole Wheat: A yeast bread made with a significant portion (50% or more) of whole wheat flour. These breads are more nutritious and flavorful, with a brown to dark brown crust.
  • Quick: Kneading, rising, and baking are completed faster than the Basic program, resulting in a smaller loaf with a denser texture. Loaf size and delay time are not applicable for this program.
  • Sweet: Designed for breads with high amounts of sugar, fats, and proteins, which enhance browning. A longer rising phase makes the bread light and airy.
  • Ultra Fast: Kneading, rising, and baking are completed in the shortest time. The bread is usually smaller and rougher than that made with the Quick program. Delay time is not applicable.
  • Gluten Free: For gluten-free breads, which typically have a wetter, batter-like dough. It's important not to over-mix or over-knead. There is only one rise, and baking time is increased due to high moisture content. Mix-ins should be added at the beginning of the cycle.
  • Dough: Includes kneading and rising, but no baking. The dough can be removed and used for making rolls, pizza, steamed bread, etc. Crust color and loaf size are not applicable.
  • Jam: Excellent for making homemade jams and chutneys. The kneading paddle automatically stirs ingredients throughout the process. Crust color, loaf size, and delay time are not applicable.
  • Cake: Includes kneading, rising, and baking, with rising achieved using soda or baking powder. Loaf size is not applicable.
  • Sandwich: Kneading, rising, and baking for sandwich bread, resulting in a light texture and thin crust.
  • Bake: For additional baking of breads that are too light or not fully baked. This program does not include kneading or rising. Loaf size and delay time are not applicable, but the operation time can be adjusted from 10 to 60 minutes in 1-minute increments.

Usage Features:

  • Control Panel: Features a display screen showing the selected program and operation time. Buttons include "MENU" for program selection, "COLOR" for crust color, "LOAF" for bread size, "TIME+" and "TIME-" for delay time adjustment, and "START/STOP" to begin or end a program.
  • Start/Stop: A single press of "START/STOP" starts the selected program, accompanied by a short beep and flashing dots on the time display. Holding "START/STOP" for approximately 3 seconds stops the program, indicated by a longer beep.
  • Crust Color Selection: The "COLOR" button allows selection of LIGHT, MEDIUM, or DARK crust. This feature is available for BASIC, FRENCH, WHOLE-WHEAT, QUICK, SWEET, ULTRA FAST, GLUTEN FREE, CAKE, SANDWICH, and BAKE programs.
  • Loaf Size Selection: The "LOAF" button allows selection of 900g or 1200g bread. The total operation time may vary with the chosen loaf size. This feature is available for BASIC, FRENCH, WHOLE WHEAT, SWEET, ULTRA FAST, GLUTEN FREE, and SANDWICH programs.
  • Delay Function: The "TIME+" and "TIME-" buttons allow setting a delay for the program start, up to a maximum of 13 hours. The delay time includes the baking time of the chosen program. Perishable ingredients like eggs, fresh milk, fruits, and onions should not be used with the delay function.
  • Keep Warm Function: Automatically keeps bread warm for 1 hour after baking. To remove bread during this phase, cancel the program by pressing "START/STOP". Not available for DOUGH and JAM programs.
  • Memory Function: If power supply is interrupted for less than 10 minutes, the program resumes automatically. If the interruption lasts longer than 10 minutes, the program is lost, and new ingredients must be added to restart. If the interruption occurs before dough rising, pressing "START/STOP" restarts the program from the beginning.
  • Environment: The bread maker operates effectively within a wide temperature range (15°C to 34°C), though loaf size may vary in very warm or cold rooms.
  • Warning Display:
    • "H HH": Indicates internal temperature is too high. Stop the program, open the lid, and allow to cool for 10-20 minutes.
    • "L LL": Indicates internal temperature is too low. Stop the program, open the lid, and allow to cool for 10-20 minutes.
    • "E E0" or "E E1": Indicates a temperature sensor malfunction. Contact authorized service.
