The Gorilla Mobile Aluminium Scaffold is a lightweight scaffolding unit designed for both indoor and outdoor access solutions in the building and construction industry. It provides stable and secure platforms for maintenance, installation work, or short-term access, offering a strong working platform at various heights.

Function Description:

The mobile scaffold system is designed to provide a safe and stable elevated working platform. It is assembled from modular components, including ladder frames, platforms with hatches, horizontal and diagonal braces, guard rails, castor wheels, and stabilisers. The system allows for the construction of a multi-level working structure that can be easily moved when not occupied. The platforms feature double guardrails on both faces of individual platforms or fully decked levels, ensuring safety at height. The system is designed for manual movement from the base, with precautions for overhead obstructions and uneven ground.

Important Technical Specifications:

Compliance: Tested and certified to AS/NZS1576.1/3.
Safe Working Load: The safe load per platform is 230kg. A maximum load of 460kg is permitted over two platforms at full height, including the operator's weight.
Platform Height for Stabilisers & Toe Boards: For platform heights of 1.9m or above, stabilisers and toe boards must be used.
Castor Wheels: Equipped with 5" standard castor wheels for mobility. 6" adjustable scaffold wheels are available for purchase to support uneven surfaces.
Guard Rail Height: All guardrails should be 1 and 2 rungs (0.5m and 1.0m) above platforms.
Maximum Movement Height: The height of the scaffolding when being moved should not exceed 4.0m.
Maximum Horizontal Force: The system can withstand a maximum horizontal force of 20kg.
Tubing Indentations: Any tubing with indentations greater than 5mm should be set aside for repair.

Usage Features:

Assembly: Step-by-step instructions are provided for easy and safe erection. The assembly process includes securing castor wheels, erecting the base unit with a platform, attaching guard rails, adding tower units, clipping diagonal braces for self-support, fixing adjustable stabilisers, and adding additional platforms and toe boards.
Safety Harness: Not required when erecting or dismantling the scaffold.
Ground Requirements: The ground on which the scaffold is erected and moved must be level and capable of supporting the unit. Stabilisers should be fitted on solid ground, not water or loose sand, and should not overload individual legs. Adjustable stabilisers are for levelling only.
Movement: The scaffold should only be moved from the base using manual effort. No personnel or materials should be on the scaffolding during movement. Castors should be unlocked before moving and locked afterwards. If stabilisers are fitted, they should be lifted sufficiently above the ground to avoid hitting obstructions.
Wind Conditions: Working on the scaffold is not recommended in wind speeds over 7.7 metres per second (27 k.p.h.). If wind is expected to reach 11.3 metres per second (40 k.p.h.), tie the scaffold to a rigid structure. If gale force winds (over 18 metres per second or 60 k.p.h.) are expected, the scaffold should be dismantled.
Prohibited Actions: Do not fix debris netting or plastic sheeting without consulting a local distributor. Do not abuse equipment; damaged components must not be used. The assembled scaffolding should not be used as a means of access to other structures. It is not designed to be suspended. Beware of horizontal forces (e.g., power tools) that could generate instability. Never stand on an unguarded platform.
Dismantling: Involves removing toe boards, unclipping braces from the farthest end and moving to a protected trapdoor position, removing upper platforms, and passing components to an assistant.

Maintenance Features:

Regular Inspection: All components and parts, especially welds, should be regularly inspected for damage.
Replacement of Parts: Lost and/or broken parts should be replaced.
Tubing Repair: Any tubing with indentations greater than 5mm should be set aside for repair.
Castor Wheel Maintenance: Adjustable wheel threads should be cleaned and lightly lubricated to ensure free running.
Weather Considerations: The system is not designed to withstand heavy exposure to rain, which can drastically shorten the life of scaffold platforms.

All components are inspected prior to erection.
An 'Inspection of Scaffolding' report is available.
Scaffolding is upright and level.
Wheels are locked and correctly adjusted.
Guard rails are fitted.
Diagonal braces, horizontal braces, and bottom brace are fitted.
Stabilisers are fitted as specified.
Platforms are located and windlocks are on.
Toe boards are installed.
