The GOURMETmaxx Digital Hot Air Frying Machine XL (model HIC-AF-8081D, article number 12850) is a versatile kitchen appliance designed for heating food using hot air. It operates on 220-240 V ~ 50/60 Hz with a power output of 1800 W and belongs to protection class I. The device has a generous capacity of 12 liters.

Function Description:

This hot air frying machine offers a wide range of cooking functions, including frying, grilling, baking, gratinating, dehydrating, heating, defrosting, and keeping food warm. It utilizes a clever combination of fast-circulating hot air and a heating element to cook food quickly and gently. The device features a touch display and 8 preset cooking programs, ensuring maximum ease of use. A rotating spit skewer allows for the preparation of crispy chicken and pork knuckle. The timer function enables precise cooking.

Usage Features:

The device is intended for personal use only and not for commercial or domestic-like applications (e.g., hotels, offices, staff kitchens). It should only be used for its specified purpose as described in the operating instructions.

Before Initial Use:

  • Check the device and its components for transport damage. Do not use if damaged.
  • Remove all films, stickers, or transport protection. The rating plate and any warnings must never be removed.
  • Clean all accessories with detergent and warm water or in the dishwasher.
  • Perform an initial "burning off" without food for approximately 10 minutes at the highest temperature (200 °C) to eliminate any manufacturing odors or smoke.

Basic Operation:

  1. Ensure the drip tray (6) is inserted at the bottom of the cooking chamber.
  2. Place food on the baking mesh tray (5), in the rotating basket (2), or on the rotating spit (7+8), depending on the food type.
  3. Insert the accessory with the food into the cooking chamber (3) and close the door (4).
  4. Touch the on/off symbol (19) for approximately 2 seconds to activate the device. The control panel (1) will light up, showing preset values of 185 °C and 15 minutes.
  5. Adjust cooking time (13) and temperature (12) manually using the corresponding symbols (10/21 for temperature, 14/17 for time) or select one of the 8 preset programs (15).
  6. Touch the start symbol to begin cooking. Heating control lamps (16) will flash, along with the program symbol if selected.
  7. If using the rotating basket or spit, touch the rotation symbol (18) to activate the rotating function (automatically activated for the "Rotary Grilling" program).
  8. The door (4) must be closed for settings to be made and buttons to be pressed.
  9. The heating control lamps turn off once the set temperature is reached.
  10. After the set time, the device automatically switches to standby mode, and the fan continues for a few seconds.
  11. Open the door, remove the food using the removal tool (9) if necessary, and place it on a heat-resistant surface.
  12. Disconnect the device from the mains power and clean accessories once cooled.

Accessories:

  • Drip Tray (6): Always inserted at the bottom to collect fat, crumbs, and food residues.
  • Baking Mesh Tray (5): Used for distributing food, suitable for pizza, cakes, or dehydrating. Slides into the rails of the cooking chamber (3).
  • Rotating Spit (7+8): Consists of a shaft (8) and two spit forks (7). Ideal for grilling large pieces of meat (e.g., chicken, roasts). Forks are fixed with locking screws into small indentations (Picture C, a) on the shaft.
  • Rotating Basket (2): Food is tumbled during cooking for even crispiness. Suitable for fries, potato products, vegetables, and meat. The shaft (8) passes through the basket and is fixed with a locking screw (Picture E). The basket should be filled to a maximum of 3/4 capacity.
  • Removal Tool (9): Used to safely remove hot accessories from the cooking chamber (3) by placing its ends under the shaft (Picture F).

Safety Notices:

  • Hot Surfaces: The device and accessories become very hot. Use oven gloves when handling hot accessories. Only touch handles and the control panel during operation.
  • Electrical Safety: Never immerse the device or connecting cable in water. Do not pour liquids directly into the device. Disconnect from mains power when unattended, before cleaning, or during thunderstorms/power cuts. Always pull the mains plug, not the cable.
  • Fire Hazard: Do not operate near combustible substances. Do not cover ventilation openings. Do not use extension cables. In case of fire, smother flames with a fireproof blanket or extinguisher, do not use water.
  • Injury Risk: Keep packaging material away from children and animals (suffocation risk). Keep the connecting cable out of reach of children and animals (strangulation risk). Hot steam can escape; keep head and hands away from the danger zone. Do not move the device during operation.
  • Damage to Material/Property: Ensure steam does not contact electrical devices. Pull the mains plug if a fault occurs. Protect from heat, flames, moisture, direct sunlight, and impacts. Store in a dry place between 0°C and 40°C. Do not place objects on the device or cable. Use only original accessories. Do not use sharp-edged objects that could damage coatings.
  • Children: Can be used by children aged 8 and over under supervision and after instruction on safe use. Children younger than 8 and animals must be kept away. Cleaning and maintenance by children only under supervision.
  • Modifications: Do not modify the device or replace the connecting cable yourself. Damaged parts must be repaired or replaced by the manufacturer, customer service, or a specialist.
  • External Timers: Not designed for operation with external timers or separate remote control systems.
  • Overfilling: Do not overfill to allow optimal hot air circulation.
  • Oil/Fat: Ensure oil and fat-rich foods are not overheated to prevent ignition.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Always allow the device to cool completely before cleaning. Do not spray hot water on hot accessories. Do not use caustic, abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Door (4): Can be detached for cleaning. Open slightly to remove. Reattach when dry.
  • Main Unit: Wipe the housing, cooking chamber (3), door (4), and heating element with a clean, damp cloth. Do not wash in a dishwasher or immerse in water.
  • Accessories: Clean used accessories with warm water and dish soap or in the dishwasher. Hand washing is recommended for longevity. For stubborn dirt, soak in warm water and dish soap.
  • Drying: Dry all parts completely before storage.
  • Storage: Store the device in a dry, clean place, out of reach of children and animals.
