Service
CAUTION
To avoid contaminating the fluid in the supply con-
tainer, keep the pump intake and the inductor plate
clean during the servicing operations. Place the parts
on clean paper or rags.
Removing the Pump
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury whenever you
are instructed to relieve pressure, always follow the
Pressure Relief Procedure on page 6.
1. Relieve the Pressure.
2. Remove the drum. Disconnect the air-assist
hose (41).
For Model 204490: Loosen the inductor plate
setscrews (19). See the Parts Drawing on
page 16.
For Models 226013. 226018, and 244637:
Unscrew the locking nut (11 or 24), taking note of
the number of turns needed.
3. Push the snap-over valve (27) to lower the pump.
4. Relieve pressure in the pump and disconnect the
hoses.
5. Disconnect the pump from the mounting bracket
and remove it.
Reinstalling the Pump
Follow the steps at left in reverse order. When
attaching the pump to the inductor plate, turn the
locking nut (11 or 24) the same number of turns noted
in Removing the Pump, step 2, or until you feel it
settle in.
