This document is an owner's manual for a portable room air conditioner, specifically models G17-12PACSW, G17-12PACSH, and G17-135PACSW with Heat Pump. It provides comprehensive instructions for installation, operation, and maintenance of the unit, emphasizing safety and proper usage.
The portable room air conditioner is designed to provide cooling and, for the G17-135PACSW model, heating to an indoor space. It utilizes a refrigerant system to remove heat and moisture from the air, discharging hot air through an exhaust hose. The unit features a programmable digital thermostat for precise comfort control, allowing users to select a desired temperature within a range of 61°F (16.1°C) to 86°F (30°C) in COOL or HEAT mode. It also includes a 24-hour programmable clock timer, enabling users to set specific times for the unit to turn on or off. The unit is equipped with casters for easy mobility and is intended for indoor use only.
The air conditioner offers multiple operating modes: COOL, DRY, FAN, and HEAT (for models with a heat pump).
The unit features a 3-speed fan (Low, Med, High) and an Auto Fan setting. In Auto Fan mode, the fan speed automatically adjusts based on the current room temperature and the thermostat setting to optimize comfort.
A Sleep Mode is available for enhanced comfort and energy conservation. When activated in COOL mode, the preset temperature automatically increases by 2°F after the first hour and another 2°F after the second hour. This mode limits compressor usage and is not available in FAN or DRY modes.
The unit is controlled via a control display on the unit itself and an LCD remote control. The remote control displays all settings and includes an X-Fan Button. When pressed in COOL or DRY mode, the X-Fan icon appears, and the interior fan continues to operate for a few minutes after the compressor turns off to disperse excess condensation, helping to prevent mold and mildew growth. This feature is not available in AUTO or FAN modes.
A Child Lock Function can be activated by simultaneously pressing the “+” and “-” buttons on the remote control when it is turned off. When active, an icon is displayed on the remote, and it will not send signals to the unit.
The unit also has a Loss of Power Protection with Auto Restart feature. In the event of a power interruption, the unit remembers its previous settings (mode, temperature, and fan speed) and automatically resumes operation with those settings once power is restored.
For continuous drainage, the unit offers options from both the bottom and middle holes. The bottom hole option is for continuous drainage when the chassis is full, indicated by a buzzer sound and "H8" display. The middle hole option allows water to automatically empty into a floor drain by attaching a garden hose (not included).
Regular maintenance is crucial for the optimal performance and longevity of the air conditioner.
The manual also provides troubleshooting information for common issues and malfunction codes, advising users to contact customer service if solutions fail. Safety warnings are highlighted throughout, emphasizing the importance of disconnecting power before cleaning, avoiding harsh cleansers, and handling the unit carefully to prevent injury from sharp edges or fins.
