Function Description:

The Gree Multi VRF Modular System utilizes inverter compressor technology to achieve stepless capacity regulation within a range of 10% to 100%. This allows for precise control of cooling and heating, making the units suitable for various working areas, especially those with variable load changes. The system is designed for commercial use and employs eco-friendly R410A refrigerant. It supports combinations of multiple outdoor and indoor units, offering a wide capacity range from 22.4kW to 272kW. The system automatically adjusts its operation based on the required capability of the indoor units.

  • Operating Temperature Range (Heating): Ambient: -25°C (-13°F) to 24°C (75.2°F) DB; Indoor: 15°C (59°F) to 27°C (80.6°F) DB.
  • Indoor Humidity: ≤80%
  • VRF Fresh Air Processor Operating Range: Ambient temperature: 16°C (60.8°F) to 45°C (113°F) for cooling; -7°C (19.4°F) to 16°C (60.8°F) for heating.
  • Design Pressure: 4.3 MPa
  • Pipe Specifications: Copper pipes with specific external diameters and minimum wall thicknesses are required, ranging from Φ6.35mm (1/4 inch) with ≥0.8mm (1/32 inch) thickness to Φ54.1mm (2-1/8 inch) with ≥1.5mm (1/17 inch) thickness. Inner and outer surfaces of the pipeline must be free of defects.
  • Allowable Pipe Lengths:
    • Total actual length of fitting pipe: ≤1000m (3280-3/4 ft.)
    • Length of farthest fitting pipe (actual): ≤200m (656-3/16 ft.)
    • Length of farthest fitting pipe (equivalent): ≤240m (787-1/2 ft.)
    • Equivalent length from the first branch to the furthest indoor unit: ≤120m (393-3/4 ft.)
    • Height difference (Outdoor unit at upper): ≤100m (328-3/4 ft.)
    • Height difference (Outdoor unit at lower): ≤110m (360-7/8 ft.)
    • Height difference between indoor units: ≤30m (98-1/2 ft.)
    • Conditional pipe length from the first branch of IDU to the farthest IDU can reach 120m (393-3/4 ft.) under specific conditions.
  • Refrigerant Charging: Calculated based on pipeline length and module capacity.
  • Electrical Parameters: Outdoor units require specific power supply (e.g., 440-460V 3~60Hz) with corresponding fuse capacity, minimum circuit ampacity, and maximum overcurrent protection (e.g., 25A for GMV-224WM/G-U, 45A for GMV-680WM/G-U). Copper-core cables complying with local regulations are mandatory.
  • Communication: CAN bus communication mode between indoor and outdoor units, and among indoor units. Communication lines between indoor units and wired controllers, and between indoor/outdoor units, have specific length and wire diameter requirements (e.g., L≤250m for wired controller, L≤1000m for indoor/outdoor unit communication, with 2xAWG18 or 2xAWG16 wire diameter). Shielded wires are recommended in environments with strong electromagnetic interference.

    • Clean filters and unit bodies.
    • Remove dust and debris.
    • Apply oil paint to rusted outdoor units to prevent expansion.
  • Parts Replacement: Accessories are available through authorized Gree offices or dealers.
  • Safety during Maintenance: Strict warnings against mixing dangerous gases (oxygen, acetylene) into the refrigeration circuit during air tightness and leak tests, recommending nitrogen instead.
