TROUBLESHOOTING
Good maintenance will extend the life of the power tiller. Prolonged or constant use may require more intensive
maintenance for the machine to continue to function properly. The table includes some of the most common
problems, their causes and remedies.
PROBLEM SOLUTION
Engine will not start
• Add fuel to the tank
• Connecting the spark plug wire
• The throttle must be in the throttle position for a cold start.
The engine runs
irregularly during
operation
• Clean or replace the air lter
It's hard for the
engine to start
• Drain the old fuel and replace it with a new one.
• Make sure that the spark plug wire is connected correctly.
• The safety control levers must be in a neutral position to start the engine.
The engine lacks
power
• Raise the cutters to work at a shallower depth (using a depth adjuster)
• Remove and clean the fuel tank
• Clean or replace the air lter
• Carburettor setting is incorrect, have the engine serviced.
• Replace the spark plug and adjust the distance
• Drain and rell the tank and carburetor
The engine does
not stop when the
control is in the stop
position.
• Check and adjust the throttle
Handlebar moves
forward during
ignition
• The safety control levers must be in neutral position to start the engine.
It's difcult
to control the
handlebars when
you're ploughing
• Set the wheels to the working position
• Raise the burs for shallower ploughing
The burs turn but
the wheels don't
turn.
• Put the wheels in working position
• If internal transmission fails, contact your dealer
The teeth spin, the
wheels spin, but the
tiller doesn't move.
• Lower the tines to deepen by raising the depth setting lever
Belts are in neutral
or reverse position
• Turn off the engine and let it cool down
• Disconnect the spark plug wire
• Pull down the safety control levers
• Replace the spark plug strap and cable
