    How to start Greyhound Engine?
    • S
      Shawn BarberAug 12, 2025
If your Greyhound Engine won't start, there are several things to check: Ensure the On/Off switch is in the On position. Make sure the gas valve is pushed to the open position. Verify the choke is set to the closed position. Check if the gas tank is empty and fill it if needed. Also, the spark plug may be dirty and require cleaning. If none of these steps work, there may be a technical problem requiring service by a qualified mechanic.

Why Greyhound 66015 Engine runs rough?
    • M
      Michelle WatkinsAug 16, 2025
If your Greyhound Engine runs roughly and makes pinging noises, it could be due to using the wrong type of gasoline. Replace the existing gasoline with 89 octane gas. Another possibility is that the gasoline contains water, in which case you should empty the tank and replace the gas.

What to do if Greyhound Engine does not reach full speed?
    • A
      Andrew HarrisAug 20, 2025
If your Greyhound Engine does not reach full speed, check if the choke is closed and open it. Clogged air filters can also cause this issue, so clean the air filter elements. If neither of these solutions works, a qualified mechanic should service the engine, as there may be a technical problem.

What to do if Greyhound Engine stops by itself?
    • T
      timothypooleAug 23, 2025
If your Greyhound Engine stops by itself even when it has gas, the low oil level auto shut off may be the cause. Check the oil level and add oil if needed. If the oil level is sufficient, the issue may be a technical problem that requires service by a qualified mechanic.

Why is Greyhound 66015 difficult to start even with good compression, gas supply and spark?
    • S
      Seth SimsAug 27, 2025
If your Greyhound Engine is difficult to start despite having good cylinder compression, gas supply, and ignition coil spark, the spark plug may have carbon buildup or dirt on and around the electrodes, so remove and clean the spark plug. The electrodes could also be burned, in which case you should replace the spark plug. Finally, the spark gap may be improper, so adjust the spark plug electrodes.

How to fix Greyhound 66015 Engine that is hard to start with good compression and spark?
    • R
      Robin StephensAug 31, 2025
If your Greyhound Engine is difficult to start, but the cylinder compression and spark are okay, it's possible that the fuel supply is blocked due to a clogged air vent in the gas cap. Clean the gas cap air vent. A plugged gas valve can also cause this, so unclog the gas valve. Additionally, the main jet might be clogged or misadjusted, requiring cleaning and/or readjustment. The needle valve may be improperly closed, or the start hole is clogged, so take apart the needle valve and repair, clean, and blow it out. Lastly, the floater in the fuel tank could be damaged or sticking, necessitating repair of the floater.

What to do if Greyhound 66015 Engine is hard to start with compression, spark and gas?
    • D
      David RiveraSep 3, 2025
If your Greyhound Engine is difficult to start despite having good cylinder compression, spark, and gas supply, the gas may be dirty, have water, or be old, so drain and replace the gas. Another possibility is that the engine cylinder is flooded, in which case you should drain the extra gas and dry the spark plug electrodes. Also, the gas might be the wrong type, so drain and replace it.

Why Greyhound 66015 Engine is hard to start with good gas supply and ignition?
    • A
      Audrey VaughnSep 7, 2025
If your Greyhound Engine is difficult to start even with a good gas supply and ignition system, it could be due to a worn, sticking, or broken piston ring, so replace the piston rings or clean out carbon fouling. A loose spark plug or one without a gasket can also cause this, so tighten the spark plug with a gasket. Air leakage between the cylinder block and cylinder or in the valve can also be responsible, so check the cylinder gasket and bolts, and check the valve clearance and thickness, repairing if required.
