Why won't my Greyhound 66525-13 HP Engine start?
    • J
      Jeffrey PowellAug 8, 2025
There are several reasons why your Greyhound Engine might not start. It could be due to low fuel or oil (add fuel or oil). The ignition switch might be in the “OFF” position (turn it to “ON”). A faulty spark plug (clean or replace it), incorrect choke position (properly adjust choke), or the fuel lever being in the “CLOSED” position (turn it to “OPEN”) could also be the cause. Furthermore, the engine might be under load (remove the load), the spark plug wire might be loose (attach the wire), the fuel line or air filter could be clogged (clean them), the fuel may be contaminated (drain and refill with fresh fuel), there might be a faulty ignition system (have a technician check it), or the battery could be low or defective (recharge or replace it).

What to do if my Greyhound 66525-13 HP will not start?

      Zachary SmithAug 18, 2025
If your Greyhound Engine won't start, here's what you can check: * Ensure there's enough fuel and oil; add if needed. * Verify the ignition switch is in the “ON” position. * Inspect the spark plug; clean or replace if faulty. * Adjust the choke to the correct position. * Confirm the fuel lever is in the “OPEN” position. * Remove any load from the engine during startup. * Check the spark plug wire and attach if loose. * Clean the fuel line and air filter if clogged. * Drain and refill the fuel tank with fresh fuel if contaminated. * Recharge or replace the battery if low or defective. If none of these steps work, have a qualified technician check the ignition system.

How to fix a Greyhound 66525-13 HP that won't start?
    • T
      tanya51Aug 28, 2025
To fix a Greyhound Engine that won't start, begin by checking the fuel and oil levels and adding more if they are low. Ensure the ignition switch is in the 'ON' position. Inspect the spark plug for faults and clean or replace it if necessary. Adjust the choke to the correct position and make sure the fuel lever is in the 'OPEN' position. Remove any load from the engine during startup. Check that the spark plug wire is securely attached. Clean the fuel line and air filter if they are clogged. If the fuel is contaminated, drain the tank and refill it with fresh fuel. Recharge or replace the battery if it's low or defective. If the problem persists, have a qualified technician examine the ignition system.
