Why won't my Grill Mate PR7000 burner light with the ignitor?
    • M
      Martin WareAug 15, 2025
If the burner on your Grill Mate Grill won't light using the ignitor, several issues could be the cause. Cooking residue may be covering the wires or electrode; if so, clean them with rubbing alcohol. Alternatively, the electrode and burners might be wet, in which case you should wipe them dry with a cloth. Other potential causes include a cracked or broken electrode (replace it), a loose or disconnected wire (reconnect it or replace the electrode/wire assembly), a shorting wire (replace the ignitor wire/electrode assembly), or a bad ignitor (replace it).

What to do if there's a sudden drop in gas flow on my Grill Mate PR7000?
    • K
      Katrina HarrellAug 19, 2025
A sudden drop in gas flow or reduced flame height in your Grill Mate Grill can happen if the LP cylinder is out of gas, so first check the gas level. Also, the excess flow safety device may have been activated. To reset it, turn off the knobs, wait 30 seconds, and try lighting the grill again. If the flames are still too low, turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve. Disconnect the regulator, turn the burner control knobs to HIGH, and wait 1 minute. Then, turn the burner control knobs off, reconnect the regulator, check for leaks, slowly turn the LP cylinder valve on, wait 30 seconds, and light the grill.

How to prevent flare-ups on Grill Mate PR7000?
    • T
      Theresa FowlerAug 21, 2025
Flare-ups on your Grill Mate Grill are often due to grease buildup, so make sure to clean the grill regularly. Excess fat in the meat can also cause flare-ups, so trim the fat before grilling. Finally, excessive cooking temperature can be a factor; adjust the temperature accordingly to a lower setting.

What to do if my Grill Mate Grill burner won't light with a match?
    • C
      Cheryl WaltersAug 25, 2025
If the burner on your Grill Mate Grill won't light with a match, it could be due to several reasons. First, check if the LP cylinder is empty or if there's an obstruction of gas flow (clear burner tubes or check for bent/kinked hose). Also, make sure the coupling nut and regulator are fully connected by hand-tightening them. Other potential causes include disengagement of the burner to the valve (reengage them), spider webs or insect nests in the venturi (clean it), or clogged/blocked burner ports (clean them).

Why is the flame yellow on my Grill Mate PR7000 Grill?
    • T
      Tammy KochAug 27, 2025
A yellow or orange flame on your Grill Mate Grill could be due to a few reasons. If it's a new burner, it might have residual manufacturing oils; burn the grill for 15 minutes with the lid closed. Other potential causes include spider webs or insect nests in the venturi (clean it), food residue, grease, or seasoning salt on the burner (clean it), or poor alignment of the valve to the burner venturi (ensure proper engagement).

What to do for a persistent grease fire on Grill Mate Grill?
    • Z
      zchurchAug 30, 2025
If you experience a persistent grease fire in your Grill Mate Grill, turn the knobs to OFF and turn off the gas at the LP cylinder. Leave the lid closed and let the fire burn out. After the grill cools, remove and clean all parts to address grease trapped by food buildup around the burner system.

What causes flame blow out on a Grill Mate Grill?
    • D
      Devin FloresSep 2, 2025
If the flame on your Grill Mate Grill blows out, it could be due to high or gusting winds; turn the front of the grill to face the wind or increase the flame height to HIGH. It could also be due to low LP gas; replace or refill the LP cylinder. Another cause may be that the excess flow valve tripped; in this case, refer to “Sudden drop in gas flow”.

Why is the inside of my Grill Mate Grill lid peeling?
    • M
      Marissa HuffmanSep 6, 2025
If you notice the inside of the lid of your Grill Mate Grill peeling, it's likely not paint but baked-on grease buildup that has turned to carbon and is flaking off. To resolve this, clean the lid thoroughly.

    • G
      ginawilsonSep 9, 2025

What causes flashback in my Grill Mate Grill?
    • E
      Erin AustinSep 12, 2025
If you experience flashback (fire in burner tube(s)) in your Grill Mate Grill, it is because the burner and/or burner tubes are blocked. Clean the burner and/or burner tubes to resolve this issue.
