GROM Interface Installation into Volvo 01-06 using VOL01 vehicle
specific harness and Posi-Tap clips

Preparation
1. It is recommended to disconnect the car battery before performing the installation.
Turn off the car engine and remove the key from the ignition.
2. Carefully remove the radio from the dash.
Installation
3. Locate the vehicle specific cable (VOL01) and blue colored Posi-Tap clips that came with your adapter (picture 1)
4. Connect VOL01 harness to the 8-PIN extension port at the back of the radio.
Note: If the port is occupied with the different factory harness – disconnect this harness; insert 8-pin connector to the
slot at the back of the stereo, reconnect the disconnected factory harness back to the stereo using the female end of
the VOL01 harness.
If the port at the back of the stereo is empty – leave the female end of the VOL01 harness hang free – do not connect
it to anything.

Constant Power Connection

Locate the constant power wire on the main radio harness and connect to VOL01 harness.

Ground Wire Connection

Locate and secure the black ground wire on the VOL01 harness to chassis ground.

GROM Unit Placement

Route the GROM harness to a compartment and connect the GROM unit.

Unit Operation Test

Test the unit by cycling ignition and selecting CD Changer mode before final mounting.

Troubleshooting and Support

Stereo Not Recognizing Adapter

Check 12V yellow wire, black ground wire, and CD changer mode if adapter isn't recognized.
