Safety
Please note the following instructions when using
the appliance.

The appliance is designed for domestic use
only.

Do not use the appliance on a carpet or rug.

Always use the appliance on an even, hard
floor. This ensures more exact measurement
readings.

Stand on the section of the glass surface sup-
ported with a silver frame and keep at least
2 cm away from the edge. Be careful when
doing this.

Step onto the appliance carefully with only the
left foot or the right foot, placing it on the
section of the glass surface supported by the
silver frame. Make sure you keep a minimum
of 2 cm away from the edge. Then place your
other foot on and position it in the same way
on the other side of the glass surface. Be very
careful when doing this.

Position your bodyweight in the middle of the
appliance before you take one foot off it.
Always make sure the appliance cannot tip
over, as there is a risk of injury.

Never use the appliance outdoors.

Do not use the appliance during a thunder-
storm.

Do not continue to use the appliance if a mal-
function occurs.

Do not continue to use the appliance if there
are any cracks or chips in the glass plate.

Do not place any objects on the glass surface.
7
Never jump on or off the appliance.

If the appliance is being used in the bathroom,
on no account should it come into contact with
water.

Do not immerse the appliance in water.

Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight,
high temperatures or constantly high humidity.

Keep the appliance away from children.
7
Never use the appliance if it is visibly damaged.

Do not open the appliance under any circum-
stances. No warranty claims are accepted for
damage resulting from improper handling.
Caution
The appliance may not be used by the following
groups of people:

Pregnant women and children under the age
of 18 (the exact body mass index cannot be
determined in these cases).
7
The appliance works out your body mass index
using BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis).
This sends a harmless signal through the body.
The appliance is not suitable for people who
are fitted with a pacemaker or with any other
medical implants. If in doubt, seek medical
advice.
