INSTAI.LATIOX OF LIFT CHAIN AND SPRING
ASSEMBLY TO CARRIER ARM (Fig. 21).
IJfl chain (C) should be Ihroadcd over carrier
arm pulley (D), NOTE: He certain that eccentric
arm on carrier pulley is in pOHltion at
this point. Anchor clip (E) Is positioned at angle
fihown. Lift spring (F) Is attached to angle clip
(E) . To conn(H:l lift spring to lift chain, reniove
all slack from chitin, then connect lift spring
(F) to lift chain (C) so the cluiin is snug. Then
push pivot arm assembly Into operating posi¬
tion (G) as illustrated in (Fig. 21).

Inner shoe of mower should then be approxi¬
mately 1/2*' off from floor at this point. For
added clearance, drop additional links of chain.
Having Inner shoe approximately l/2*‘ off from
floor or ground lovol when mowor is not o|)era-
tlng will allow inner shoo to float more easily
over uneven terrain, precut material, and other
obstructlon.s.
LIFT HANDLE lOSITIONS:
Lift handle should bo set in lop notch as
illustrates! for oi>erAting mowor. Setting (H)
is for transport position. Shut off tnictor en¬
gine. and disengage tractor FIX) clutch when
ever dismounting fi*om tractor (Fig. 22)

TRANSPORTING MOWER:
Install sickle knife cover (J) using retaining
strap to secure cover to b.ir. Sot lift hiin<ile
Into transport position (R). stand in buck of
mower, raising mower ijur with right hand to
vertical position. Insert lr:ins|K)rl pin (K) as
