This document describes the Hafele Freestanding Nero Dishwasher HDW-F60F (Product Applied: 533.23.310), a domestic appliance designed for washing dishes.
Function Description
The dishwasher is designed to clean and dry dishes efficiently. It features a water softener system to reduce water hardness, which helps prevent white lime residues on dishes and internal components, ensuring optimal washing, drying, and shining performance. The appliance includes a detergent and rinse-aid dispenser, with specific instructions for their use to achieve the best results. A "Turbo Drying Unit" is incorporated to enhance drying performance.
The dishwasher offers various programs to suit different soil levels and types of dishes, including:
- Eco: Standard program for normally soiled daily dishes with reduced energy and water consumption.
- Smart (50°C - 70°C): Auto program for heavily soiled dishes.
- Smart (30°C - 50°C): Auto program for normally soiled delicate dishes.

- Extra Dry/Energy Save Option: Enhances drying or reduces energy consumption by enabling an automatic door opening system at the end of the program.
- Extra Upper Basket/Extra Lower Basket Half Load Option: Allows for washing dishes in specific sections (upper, lower, or both) to save water and energy when the machine is not fully loaded.
- Extra Silent/Extra Fast Option: Adjusts water pressure for a quieter wash or shortens program duration with increased water temperature and pressure for faster cleaning.
- Delay Timer: Allows delaying the program start by 1 to 19 hours.

Usage Features
- Loading: Dishes should be loaded correctly to maximize energy and water efficiency. Coarse food residues should be removed before loading. Long-handle and sharp-pointed knives should be placed with sharp points facing down or horizontally in the cutlery basket to avoid injury.
- Basket Configuration:
- Upper Basket: Equipped with height-adjustable racks (Soft Touch feature) to accommodate different sizes of glasses and cups. Foldable racks allow for placing larger items like pots and pans.
- Direct Wash Function: Directs water upwards for washing glasses and bottles, or downwards for the lower basket, depending on the apparatus position.
- Upper Cutlery Basket: Designed for forks, spoons, knives, long dippers, and small items. It is composed of three pieces, allowing parts to be slid or moved down to create more space in the upper basket.
- Detergent and Rinse Aid: Use only detergents and rinse aids specifically designed for dishwashers. The amount of detergent depends on the cycle, load size, and soil level. Rinse aid helps dry dishes without streaks and stains. Dosage levels for both salt and rinse aid are adjustable.
- Water Softener System: The dishwasher is equipped with a water softener. The salt compartment should be filled with softener salt, especially during first use (1 kg salt and water until almost overflowing). The water hardness level can be set based on a test strip or local water company information.
- Control Panel: Features a program key, display, delay timer key, and option keys for Extra Dry/Energy Save, Half Load, and Extra Silent/Extra Fast. Salt and Rinse Aid warning indicators are present. A touch slide area allows opening the door and enabling/disabling the child lock.
- Power Saving Mode: Reduces energy consumption by turning off inner lamps after 4 minutes and the machine after 15 minutes if no key is pressed.
Maintenance Features
- Filters: The filter system (fine filter, coarse filter, metal filter) should be cleaned at least once a week to prevent food residues or foreign objects from blocking the waste water pump. To clean, rotate counter-clockwise to remove, separate components, rinse thoroughly, and reassemble.
- Spray Arms: Ensure spray arm holes are not clogged. If clogged, remove the spray arms and clean them under running water. The upper spray arm can be removed by unscrewing its retaining nut.
- Drain Pump: Large food residues or foreign objects can block the drain pump. If this occurs, the appliance must be disconnected from the power supply, baskets and filters removed, water scooped out, and any foreign objects cleared from the pump area.
- General Cleaning: Regularly clean the machine to maintain its lifespan. Wipe door gaskets with a damp cloth to remove dirt or foreign objects. If oil and lime scale accumulate, run a high-temperature program without dishes using dishwasher-specific detergent.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues, including problems with program start, water remaining in the machine, machine stopping during wash, noise, food residues, whitish stains, dishes not drying, rust stains, and detergent remaining in the dispenser. It also lists automatic fault warnings (e.g., FF for water inlet system failure, F8 for heater error) and corresponding actions to take.
- Service and Spare Parts: Installation and repairs should only be carried out by an authorized service agent. Original spare parts are available from Customer Service for at least 10 years from the date the appliance was placed on the market.
