Function Description
The Hafele miniBar is a silent-operating absorption refrigerator designed for cooling various items. It utilizes ammonia as a coolant and sodium chromate for corrosion protection. The device is intended for use in environments where quiet operation is essential, such as hotel rooms. It features an electronic temperature control system and an automatic defrost function to maintain optimal cooling performance and prevent ice buildup. Some models are equipped with an Automatic Door Control (ADC) system, which registers when the miniBar door has been opened, a feature particularly useful for hotel management. The miniBar also includes an interior light for visibility of its contents.

Usage Features
- Silent Operation: The miniBar is designed to operate silently, making it ideal for hotel rooms and other quiet environments.
- Temperature Control: An electronic thermostat control button, located in the internal container's rear area (or in the unrefrigerated compartment for RH455LD, RH456LD/E), allows users to adjust the cooling temperature.
- Automatic Defrost Function: The device automatically defrosts. The first defrosting phase occurs 39 hours after initial operation and lasts for two hours. Subsequently, the device operates for 22 hours, followed by a 2-hour defrosting period. This prevents manual ice removal and ensures efficient operation.
- Leakage Detection: The electronics perform a leakage test after every defrosting period (every 24 hours) by measuring the evaporator temperature with a second sensor. If a leakage is detected, the miniBar is automatically shut off.
- Automatic Door Control (ADC): Available on certain models, this feature indicates when the miniBar door has been opened via a red dot in a display window. For electrical ADC systems, a magnetically operated approximation switch registers door openings/closings, which can be processed at a hotel reception.
- Interior Light: The miniBar is equipped with an interior light that switches on when the door is opened (via a sensor for the cooling shelf, or manually for the uncooled storage shelf in RH456LD/E models).
- Energy Saving Tips: The manual provides advice on optimizing energy consumption, such as storing pre-cooled goods, avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources, ensuring unobstructed air circulation, opening the door briefly, and switching on the miniBar approximately 12 hours prior to stocking.
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning: Before initial operation, the miniBar should be cleaned inside and out with a soft cloth, lukewarm water, and a mild detergent. It should then be washed with clean water and dried thoroughly. Annually, dust should be removed from the fridge aggregate using a brush or soft cloth. Harsh, coarse, or soda-containing soaps/detergents should be avoided to prevent material damage. The door seal should be kept free from oil and grease, and cylinder locks are factory-lubricated for longevity.
- Bulb/LED-board Replacement: Instructions are provided for changing the interior light bulb (for RH456LD/E) or the LED-board (for all other models). This involves pulling out the mains plug, removing the reflector disk, replacing the defective component, and clipping the reflector disk back in. Spare electronic boards can be obtained from the Dometic Service Centre.
- Door Hinge Adjustment/Replacement: The manual includes instructions for changing the sliding hinge and changing the door hang, allowing for flexibility in installation and addressing potential issues with door closure.
- Troubleshooting Guide: A comprehensive "Check List" is provided to help users diagnose and resolve common issues such as no cooling (cold or warm aggregate), poor cooling performance, and frost formation. This guide suggests self-help steps and indicates when authorized service is required.
- Warranty and Customer Service: Warranty arrangements are in accordance with EC Directive 44/1999/CE. Users are advised to contact the Dometic Service department for warranty or other servicing, providing the model, product, MLC-Code, and serial number found on the model label inside the device. Damage due to improper use, modifications, or use of non-original parts is not covered by the warranty.
- Disposal: The manual emphasizes environmentally responsible disposal. Recyclable packaging materials should be disposed of using local collection systems. The device itself must be handed over to a disposal company or local council that guarantees proper recycling and disposal of electronic equipment, in accordance with the symbol on the data plate. It must not be disposed of with normal household refuse.
