Overview

This document serves as both an operation and installation manual for a Haier Duct Type Air Conditioner, covering models AD09SS1ERA(N)(P), AD12SS1ERA(N)(P), AD18SS1ERA(N)(P), and AD24SS1ERA(N)(P). It provides essential information for safe and effective use, installation, and maintenance of the appliance.

Function Description

The Haier Duct Type Air Conditioner is designed to provide cooling and heating for various indoor environments, including offices, restaurants, and residences. It operates by circulating air through ducts, ensuring even distribution of conditioned air throughout a space. The system utilizes a heat pump mechanism for warming, concentrating heat from outdoor air to warm the indoor space. During heating, the "HOT KEEP" function prevents the discharge of cool air at startup and manages defrosting operations to maintain efficiency. The unit is designed to be installed in a ceiling-concealed manner, with air supply and return ducts connected to distribute and collect air.

Usage Features

The air conditioner offers both cooling and heating modes. In heating mode, the "HOT KEEP" function ensures a comfortable experience by preventing cold drafts at startup and automatically managing defrosting cycles. This function temporarily stops the indoor fan or heating operation for a few minutes when starting heating, during defrosting, or when the room thermostat actuates due to rising room temperature. The system automatically switches to ordinary heating mode once these conditions are met.

The unit's operation is influenced by ambient temperature, with specific ranges for cooling (indoor 18-32°C DB/14-23°C WB, outdoor -10-46°C DB/24°C WB) and heating (indoor 15-27°C DB/WB, outdoor -15-24°C DB/18°C WB). The system is not intended for use with external timers or separate remote-control systems.

The manual emphasizes the importance of proper grounding and adherence to electrical safety standards. It also highlights the need for adequate ventilation when operating the unit simultaneously with combustion apparatus to prevent oxygen deficiency. Users are cautioned against obstructing the ventilation grille, inserting objects into the inlet/outlet, or handling switches with wet hands. The system should not be used for purposes other than conditioning air, such as preserving food or precision devices.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficient operation of the Haier air conditioner. The manual outlines several key maintenance tasks:

  • Air Filter Cleaning: The air filter should be cleaned regularly by lightly tapping it or using a cleaner. For very dirty filters, a neutral detergent dissolved in lukewarm water (approx. 30°C) can be used, followed by thorough rinsing with plain water and drying before reinstallation. It is strictly prohibited to dry the air filter with fire or operate the unit without the air filter.
  • Unit Cleaning: The unit's exterior should be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a neutral detergent can be used with a wet cloth, followed by wiping with a clean, damp cloth.
  • Post-Season Care: After the cooling or heating season, it is recommended to operate the unit in FAN mode for about half a day on a fair day to thoroughly dry its interior. Subsequently, the unit should be stopped, and the power supply switch turned off. The air filter should be cleaned and stored.
  • Pre-Season Care: Before starting the unit for a new season, ensure that there are no obstacles blocking the air inlet and outlet of both indoor and outdoor units. Verify that the air filter is clean. It is also recommended to turn on the power supply switch 12 hours before starting operation.
  • Professional Inspection: The manual advises that the capacity of the air conditioner may decrease due to internal contamination after about three years of use. Therefore, in addition to usual maintenance, special inspection and maintenance services are necessary, and a maintenance contract with a sales dealer is recommended. In dusty environments, the condenser should be cleaned periodically to maintain cooling efficiency.

The manual also provides troubleshooting guidance for common issues, such as the unit failing to start, insufficient cooling or heating, and unusual noises or smells. It distinguishes between actual malfunctions and normal operational sounds or phenomena, like water flowing sounds or cracking due to thermal expansion. For more complex issues or error codes, users are advised to contact their sales dealer. The importance of cutting off the power supply before adjusting internal settings like SW1-4 and SW1-5 for static pressure adjustment is highlighted to prevent invalid operation.
