Function Description:
The primary function of the HALO S2 Horizon is to record video and audio footage. It is equipped with a panic/pre-record button for quick activation of recording, a dedicated record button to start and stop recording, and a function button that can be configured for various features, such as video tagging. The camera also has a power button for turning the device on and off.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Storage: Each HALO S2 Horizon camera has 58GB of available storage for footage capture. The display shows the remaining storage (e.g., 2GB left out of 58GB total).
- Recording Resolution: The camera supports recording at 1080P, which corresponds to a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.
- Connectivity:
- USB-C Port: For connecting to a PC.
- Wi-Fi: The camera is generally pre-configured with the customer's SSID and password for automatic connection to an access point. It indicates Wi-Fi signal strength by changing bars from grey to white.
- RJ45 (Ethernet): The docking station provides a wired internet connection via RJ45 cable for fast charging and data upload.
- GPS: The camera can record GPS coordinates on every video frame. It indicates GPS signal strength by changing the symbol from grey (low signal) to green (strong signal).
- Battery: The camera has a battery level indicator on the display.
- LED Light Ring: A light ring on the front of the camera indicates various statuses:
- Solid blue: Camera powered on.
- Pulsing blue: Recording in progress.
- Flashing white: Camera is charging.

Usage Features:
- Turning On/Off:
- To Turn On: Hold the power button for three seconds. The camera will vibrate, display the HALO logo, then switch to the default display, and the front light ring will turn solid blue.
- To Power Down: Hold the power button for three seconds. The camera will vibrate, display the HALO logo, then turn off the display, and the blue light ring will also turn off.
- Capturing Footage:
- To Record: Single press the Record button. The light ring will pulse blue, the camera will vibrate, and a time counter will appear on the screen.
- To Stop Recording: Single press the Record button. The light ring will stop pulsing blue, and the counter will disappear.
- Display Brightness: Once the camera is turned on, the display brightness can be adjusted by tapping the power button.
- Video Tagging: The function button (FN) can be used to tag footage as "evidential" during a recording. Pressing the FN button will cause the camera to vibrate, marking the footage for special attention upon upload to Halo Vault.
- WPS Activation: If WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) is enabled on the camera, pressing the FN button for one second will activate it. The camera will vibrate, display "WPS Active" on the screen for 60 seconds, and then automatically turn off WPS.
- Footage Upload:
- When the camera has internet connectivity (via Wi-Fi or RJ45), it automatically checks for footage every minute.
- The screen updates to show upload progress, including the number of files to upload and the current file being processed (e.g., "6/10" for file 6 out of 10).
- Individual file upload progress is also displayed (e.g., "59%").
- Once a file reaches 100% upload, it is deleted from the camera and becomes available for review in Vault.
- GPS Recording: The camera records GPS coordinates on every video frame by default. The GPS symbol on the screen indicates signal strength.
- Screen Information: The LCD screen displays various icons and information, including:
- Wi-Fi connected/disconnected status.
- GPS signal low/connected status.
- Record counter (Hours:Minutes:Seconds).

- Remaining storage and total storage space (e.g., 2/58GB).

- Charging completed.
- Number of files uploading (e.g., 6/10).
- File upload progress (e.g., 59%).
- Offline/online ethernet connection status.

- "Full" when camera storage is full.
Maintenance Features:
- Charging:
- The camera can be charged in a single charging dock or any of the 10 positions in a multi-dock.
- The battery symbol on the screen animates to show charging progress.
- When charging, the front light ring flashes white.
- When fully charged, the front light ring is solid white.
- If there are no lights, ensure power is supplied to the dock and cables are secured.
- Docking Station Connectivity:
- When placed in the docking station, the camera's screen displays a symbol indicating it's in the dock. Initially, it might be grey, showing no IP address.
- After a few seconds, or once an RJ45 cable is inserted, the symbol turns green, indicating an IP address has been obtained.
- The docking station has two RJ45 ports, which can be used for providing internet to the body camera or for daisy-chaining another multi-dock to connect up to 10 additional cameras.
