What to do if Halton Ventilation Hood unit not exhausting properly?
    • D
Dr. Stacey Anderson DDSAug 1, 2025
If your Halton Ventilation Hood unit is not exhausting properly, several issues could be the cause. Check for slipping or broken belts and tighten or replace them. Ensure the fire damper is open by replacing the fusible link. Replace any plugged filters. Also, verify that the water level in the exhaust hood isn't too high, and unplug the drain, checking the filter for wetness. Check if the exhaust fan motor is off on draw; if so, reset it and check the amperage overload. Finally, inspect the ductwork and air outlet for blockages and remove any obstructions.

Why is there no make-up air in my Halton Ventilation Hood?
    • M
      Michael AdamsAug 11, 2025
If there's no make-up air in your Halton Ventilation Hood, it could be due to a loose damper linkage, causing both dampers to close; tighten and reset the linkage. Alternatively, check for loose or broken fan belts and tighten or replace them. A plugged air filter can also restrict airflow, so replace the filters. If the supply fan motor is off on draw, reset it and check for amperage overload. If you have a separate supply air system, it is recommended to have the system serviced.

What to do if Halton Fan is not exhausting properly?
    • T
      twalkerAug 16, 2025
If your Halton Fan isn't exhausting air effectively, several factors could be responsible. The belts might be slipping or broken, requiring tightening or replacement. A fire damper could be shut, necessitating replacement of the fusible link, or checking the holding ecology unit and exhaust wire. A plugged filter could be the culprit, so replace the filter. The exhaust fan motor may be off on draw, in which case you should reset it and check the amperage overload. Finally, duct work or the air outlet might be blocked; remove any obstructions.

Why Halton Fan will not start?
    • J
      johncolemanAug 22, 2025
If your Halton Fan isn't starting, begin by checking the power supply. Blown fuses could be the issue; replace them and investigate the cause. The overload heater in the magnetic starter might be off; reset it and verify the motor isn't overloaded. Check the 120-volt control transformer and replace its fuse if necessary. Also, inspect the 5 amp fuse in the exhaust hood wash control panel and replace it if blown. A defective exhaust fan motor may also prevent starting, so consider replacing it. Ensure the fan switch on the Ecology control panel is in the 'ON' position and the control switch on the exhaust hood panel is in the 'RUN' position.

How to troubleshoot no make-up air in Halton Fan?
    • D
      Diane ScottAug 27, 2025
If your Halton Fan isn't providing make-up air, start by checking the damper linkage; if loose, tighten and reset it. Inspect the fan belts; tighten or replace them if they are loose or broken. A plugged air filter can also cause this issue, so replace the filters. If the supply fan motor is off on draw, reset it and check the amperage overload.

What to do if Halton Ventilation Hood unit will not start?

      mackenzie62Nov 5, 2025
If your Halton Ventilation Hood unit won't start, begin by checking the power supply. Replace any blown fuses, and investigate the cause. Reset the overload heater in the magnetic starter, and take an amperage reading to ensure the motor isn't overloaded. Check the 120-volt control transformer, including the exhaust hood wash control panel, replacing the fuse if necessary. Also, inspect the 5 amp fuse in the exhaust hood wash control panel, looking for issues in the detergent pump or solenoid coils. If the exhaust fan motor is defective, replace it, checking for bearing issues, alignment problems, or motor burnout, and verify the overload settings with the nameplate. Ensure the fan switch on the Ecology control panel is in the “ON” position and the control switch on the exhaust hood panel ...
