To Obtain The Proper Cutting Speeds:
1. Factors which determine the best speed to use in the Drill Press are:
A. The kind of material being drilled.
B. The size of the hole.
C. The quality of cut desired.
2. Generally, in soft material the speed should be higher than for hard materials. The
following guide indicates the proper Drill Press speed (RPM) for a given drill bit size
and the material being drilled. (See Figure C.)
