Center Channel:
This menu tells the system if a center channel speaker is installed. From the “System Setup - Speaker Config” press
the “Г button twice to move the on screen “Ö“ pointer next to “Center Speaker”. (Figure #xx). Press “Select” to move
to the next menu.
At the “System Setup - Center Speaker” menu (Figure #xx), the default position is for a center channel speaker to be
installed. To configure the system for NO center channel; speaker, press the “Г button once, press “Select” to enter
the choice, and “Exit/OK” to enter it to memory and return to the previous page. If no change is needed, simply press
the “Cancel” button
When the Speaker Configuration is complete, press “Exit/OK” once to return to the “System Setup - Speakers” menu,
to continue with an installation and setup process. Press it two more times if the changes are complete and you wish
to return to normal operation.
Speaker Calibrate
The next step will calibrate the output level of the system. Before proceeding, make certain that all connections to the
system’s amplifiers have been made. Turn the amplifiers on, as sound will be required in this step.
The Citation 7.0 offers the choice of the exclusive Automatic Calibration System or conventional manual calibration.
For most systems, the Automatic Calibration is the quickest, easiest and most accurate way to set up a system. If you
prefer to establish the levels yourself, manual calibration is required.
Automatic Calibration
If you have just completed the speaker configuration, you will be at the “System Setup - Speakers” menu. If you are
not at this menu, press “System Setup”, then “Select”. With the “Γ arrow pointing at “Speakers” on the “System
Setup” menu, press “Select”.
At the “System Setup - Speakers” menu, use the “Г button on the remote so that the on screen display has an “Î
pointing to “Speaker Calibrate”. (Figure #xx) Press “Select” to go the next menu.
The “System Setup - Calibration” menu gives you a choice between manual and Automatic Calibration. (Figure #xx)
To use the Citation 7.0’s exclusive Automatic System Calibration™ feature press “Select”.
At the “System Setup - Auto Calibration” menu, press “Select” with the on screen “Γ pointing towards “Main
Speakers”. (Figure #xx).
At this point you should make certain that the microphone supplied with the 7.0 is plugged into the rear panel jack. If
the mike is not plugged in, an on screen message will remind you to connect it. Follow the on screen directions (Figure
#xx) by making certain that the mike is placed at the listening position. Make certain that the microphone is positioned
so that it is pointing upwards. If the mike is being hand held it is important that it not be moved or turned during the
calibration process. Press “Select” to start the process.
A special test tone will be sent to each speaker, and the system will automatically adjust the output setting to proper
reference levels. As the process takes place, the on screen display will indicate the progress of the test, with the
speaker position moving to mirror movement of the test signal around the room in a clockwise direction.
NOTE: The sound produced during the calibration process may be quite loud. If the process needs to be
interrupted for any reason, press any button on the remote to stop the calibration. Pressing the “Cancel” button stops
the test process. Pressing any other button on the remote resumes the calibration process.
