Video Standard
NOTE: If your Citation 7.0 was originally delivered in the United States, Canada or Mexico, this option may not
be available, and the “Video Standard” menu mau not appear.
Throughout the world there are a number of standards in use for video. The Citation 7.0 is designed to accommodate
both the NTSC and PAL systems. NTSC is use in North America, Central America, parts of South America and parts
of Asia, including Japan, Korea and the Philippines. PAL is in use in parts of South America, many European countries
(including England, Spain, Germany, the Scandinavian countries and Italy), most of Africa and parts of Asia.
The 7.0 is shipped form the factory with the Video standard set for your country. Typically, 110 volt units are set for
NTSC and 220 volt units are set for PAL. Unless you need to change the video standard due to a move to an area
where a different standard is in use, this option need not be changed. (Brazil is the only country where 110 volt units
need to be set to PAL for operation.)
NOTE: If a move to another country requires a change to the video standard, it will most likely require a
change to the power supply, as well. When moving the 7.0 from a country with one voltage to another, consult an
authorized service center before using the unit. DO NOT plug a unit with a power supply for 110 volts into 220 volt
mains outlets without factory modification.
To change the video standard, start at the “Options Set - On Screen Display” menu. If you are not at that menu, press
“Options Set”, and then “Select”. Press “Гonce so that the on screen the “Ö“ pointer is next to “On Screen Display”
line. Press “select” to choose this option.
Press “Г once so that the on screen “Ö“ pointer is next to “Video Standard”. (figure #xx). Press “Select” to move to
the next screen.
If you wish to change the standard, press “Ï“ or “Гso that the on screen “Ö“ pointer is next to standard you wish to
use. Press “Select” to confirm the action and “Exit/OK” to return to the previous menu. Press “Exit/OK” again to return
to the “Options Set” menu, and once more to return to normal operation.
WARNING: Once the video standard is changed, the screen will go blank unless the video monitor or
display device is compatible with the new standard. If you have selected the wrong standard in error, use the
front panel display to return to the prior setting. Press “Ï“ or “Г so that desired standard appears on the
bottom line of the front panel display. Press “Select” and note that an “*” will appear next to the standard, and
the correct video will return to the screen. (Figure #xx)
Front Panel Display
The settings on this menu adjust the operating conditions for the two line front panel display. Although the display has
a long life, that life may be extended even further through changes to the display settings. In addition, the options on
this menu enable you to tailor the display’s appearance to your own personal preferences.
